I came across this poll that puts Miami of Ohio as number 1.

You're right. Buffalo was starting to come together a bit toward the end of the season. They should have been a bit higher.

Interesting, although there are some oddities:
Ohio St ranked well above Mich.
BG ranked below Miss, although they have a better record, tougher schedule and 2/3 losses come against #1 team.

I suppose I should have made it clear that I do not indorse the mentioned poll. I don't know if Miami deserved to be ranked number 1. I just think that it's pretty nice that someone out considers a MAC school a contender (unlike, from my experience, all others). We will never know who the number 1 team is on any year until there's a playoff system.
Someone from Miami must have made that poll, but you are right, it is pretty cool seeing a MAC team #1. I love how WVU is always ranked higher than NIU. We beat Maryland last year. Didn't they lose to Maryland Twice?!

NIU's strength of schedule was down becuase they played those nancy-boys from Alabama.
