OK, time to get focused on HomeComing. Toledo is starting out as a 29 point favorite over EMU this Saturday. Will we cover the spread? Any other bold predictions?

I say:

TOLEDO 56
EMU 14

Gradkowski breaks another record of some sort and then Stevens lays into the Hurons, umm I mean Eagles, in the 4th quarter.

Lance Moore will have another game with over 10 receptions.
Toledo 49
Hurons 10

I think the day will belong to the baby backs, I can see all three getting a score in this one. I also see the D putting some points on the board as well. Lance Moore will score on a punt return.

Toledo 72
EMU -2
We need to top last year.. so

Toledo 72
EMU 7
Oddball "2" are you expecting EMU to get a safty on UT?
03-wink that's a NEGATIVE 2.....
I see the halftime score covering the spread and then some, with Stevens and the 2nd and 3rd string skill players doing most of the work in the 2nd half. I'd like to see Stevens get the chance to utilize the whole offense, not just hand the ball off, NOT because I want to RUTS, but because there WILL come a day when we need our backup QB to be totally prepared to take over the team. Closing down the playbook to keep the score down won't help Stevens get comfortable in game situations.

Halftime, 42-3

Final, 63-10

I agree Karl. I just hope that if that happens the EMU fans will understand, especially HuronDave. The poor guy has to put up with a lot of crap on the MAC Conference Talk forum with people always suggesting to kick EMU out of the MAC.
Slow down fellows---let's not feel too bad for Huron Dave until the game unfolds on the field. By all rights the Rockets ought to be fired up and eager to make up for that embarrassment they suffered at Syracuse and lord knows Eastern can make a lot of teams get well in a hurry. However, let's not get totally carried away yet.

I remember 1999 when Bolden appeared to have the Rockets moving to take a commanding lead at the end of the first half when an Eastern DB picked Bolden off and scurried about 70 (?) yards to score and turn the game around. This is a game that the Rockets lost at home and in retrospect, it cost them a divisional championship, because two games later the team came together and, for the last 3 games of 1999, we got a early preview of what was to be that extraordinary 2000 team. I also remember the 1997 game where Charlie Batch kept throwing the bubble screen to perfection and the Rockets had to hold on to win 38-35 or something like that. In 2000 they got a couple of quick scores early before Chester and the D asserted themselves. Even last year in what looked like a blow-out on the scoreboard, Eastern got tons of yardage and the Toledo defense was first exposed in that game.

True Eastern doesn't have Batch or Church anymore, and by all rights Toledo should take them with little problem. However, although it is not reciprocated, many Hurons/Eagles consider Toledo as their main rival and we usually see their best game. I expect the Rockets to win, but it maybe not be the rout that everyone seems to expect.
I know you're right, but I was merely speaking hypothetically. I know this COULD be a nasty little surprise.
Oddball should like this one.. "Have a little faith Baby... Have a little faith!!" Look, I don't expect any surprises in the next four games.... I think 'Stutz has learned a very valuable lesson about letting down your gaurd while there is still a lot of football to play. The ultimate goal here is to make it to the MACC game and the only way to do that is to take each team seriously. This was a valuable leasson learned two saturday's ago... Cause, I think the Rockets got a taste of humility... and they had to live with that for two weeks... that is a sour taste that just sits in your mouth... these guys once again have something to prove... it is that edge that we always seem to have going into each season... going into each game...
 So what's your predicted score?
Realistically?

EMU -- 28
Toledo -- 14

Woof woof.

That's my other dog impression.
Seriously...

Toledo 41
EMU 13

Go Rockets!!!
Oh man, being honest hurts.

Toledo 55
EMU 10.

One more nail in Woody's coffin.
UT wins 38-10
Rockets play a sloppy game against a terrible team after two weeks off while EMU always seems to play better against us (with the exception of last year). When you look at this series 20-10, I remember several games like 1998, 1999, 1994, 1989 and 1985 where UT blew the game in the final moments to lose to a team not even close to us in terms of talent. The Rockets should be leading this series something like 25-5 or 26-4. Our programs are at polar opposites.
