Wow...we should not be drawing better than NIU right now...

Where are all the fans at up in Northern IL? I would have hoped that with you guys having such a great season and being ranked would have ensured you bigger crowds.

Not getting on your case, just wondering what's happening.

It was "cold"(51 as of right now) , the Cubs game was also going on in Chicago until after our game had started and of course the most likely reason, we have many bandwagon "fans" that care only when we are playing someone in one of the BC$ conference or in the top 25.

Dude...the CUBS? No excuse!! YOU'RE RANKED!! We played Buffalo and just lost to KENT!!

This is why I HATE THE MAC!!
ucf SO STANK.........
However, As bad as you say we "stank" the refs were much worse..

And this is what you get when you have an Option QB in the game, Ball Control. Low score and alot of time with your offense on the field which is why "O A&M U" is where they are. Control the clock.

Rivera did fine, no INT no Turnovers, had a TD called back in the first after the runner was 2 yards into the endzone.

the field goal team sucked bad last night. 2 blocks :chair:
Goldenbuc, I'm pretty sure you'll get your wish soon........but as is everything with UCF the interest in your program will be based on potential (from being in Orlando), not your past or current performance. You are in a city of well over a million, average the same and yet you take a shot at NIU (in the little corn growing town of DeKalb, IL) and their attendance, even though they had two SO crowds this year..........pathetic.

I'm not sure what you smoke on a daily basis, but I reconmmned that you stop it! The Cubs have been a second family to most of the population around here. After Soooo many years of loyally watching the Cubs play poor to mediocre baseball for the last 600 years, the Cubs have rewarded their fans with a post season appearance. There is an energy and excitement around this town that cannot be ignored. I'm sure there were as many Cubs shirts atthe NIU game as there were poodle shirts. Those were just the ones that couldn't get Cubs tickets and were too lazy to go down to Wrigleyville.

You did notice I said "the most likely reason" is because our "fans" are good about coming to town for a ranked team or a "known" team(aka. BC$ team) but not interested in seeing a MAC team for the most part. Those of us that are long time fans know all about the MAC teams but our bandwagon fans don't know crap about the MAC so this was not an appealing matchup. Those other things were a factor as well just a small part.

Wow. Just heard we moved up to 18 in coaches poll. I seriously thought we would drop.
A win's a win. They can't hold it against you.
10,261 at Kent.

I was there... NO WAY. Much smaller than that. Homecoming for a first place team.

PATHETIC!

No one apparently cares about KSU football and they really won't notice or care when it's gone. Hope there's a spot for us in the MAC without football or a spot in the A-10.
While we are on the subject of attendance...anybody notice that EMU has averaged just under 20K the last two games and is now over the 15k mark for the year?

It will not last though...horrendous homecoming performance will guarantee a dropoff in attendance.

But I thought it was worth pointing out nonetheless.
I noticed. I was shocked that Eastern Michigan had that many people at its game.

I didn't realize there were so many Bronco fans in the Detroit area. :D

Seriously, EMU deserves credit for what it has done to date -- because it seems obvious that it is all downhill from here.
I would guess that overall MAC attendance is up this YTD......it helps that teams like NIU are not only good but have hosted some great IA OOC competitors in DeKalb.

It's still looking kind of grim (per new NCAA attendance requirements) for Kent and Buffalo, and EMU is skewed (upward) by the Maryland home game. Wonder if the MAC exemption will be passed by the NCAA.....it could make all the difference in whether these programs stay IA.

I could swear that someone from Toledo, Marshall or the New York Times is doing the counting at EMU and they supposedly use turnstyles (wonder how many walked out and back in through the turnstyle. It didn't seem to be but 10,000 in the stands which makes you wonder how we put more people in the stands at Rynearson than when Maryland came to town.

You've clearly never lived in or near Chicago, then. So it's clear that you don't understand.

Which is what I'd expect, from a smack-talking loser who lives in the land of kiddie theme parks.
That #@%!!* :chair: other Chicago baseball team has totally stolen the spotlight from us in the Chicago media and, I suspect, undermined our attendance for this week.

As if I needed more reasons to hate them!! 03-lol

Heres hoping Pudge Rodriguez and the Florida Marlins can make quick work of Sam-me the Clown and friends. If not, I'm sure we can count on the best team $180 million can buy to snuff out this nonsense.

If "they" are still around come October 18th, we may see a less than stellar showing for our homecoming game with WMU

I've been to two EMU games this year, and the numbers they've reported are closer to twice the actual attendence than to anything remotely resembling the crowd actually in attendence.

EMU's entire math department should all be let go for the attrocities they are commiting at the turnstile count.

No one at the NCAA is going to be fooled into thinking that these are anything like "real attendence numbers".
Ok... wow.. I can't believe every one has spent all this time talking about freak'n attendance... lemme put this susinctly

1. When you win and win consistantly, there tends to be bigger crowds...

2. Depends on location... Central Michigan is in the middle of nowhere and it takes forever to get there, although I have tickets to the CMU v Toledo game... (thought i'd help piddly little indians with their attendance this year...

3. Dependant on Tradition... the one UCF guy was right... you have no tradition in this conf. you have no rivalries built up yet... Toledo has been playing the BG birdbrains since 1917... there is always a good crowd in Toledo no matter what when we play them... WMU v CMU always a big crowd... you guys have to find a niche and a team that you play every year and upset.. like Marshall... that will be a good rival... (we have beat them 4 times in the last 5 years... they aint much of a challenge anymore...

4. Teams that consistanly lose, typically don't have much of a fan base and will more thank likely dwindle till the fans have something to cheer about... no one want to go to a game that the outcome is already known...
51, eh?

At the UCf/Buffalo game I was in shorts and sweating in the upper 80s heat.

Oh, and the girls in the stands had little on, too.

I'm tellin' ya--MAC bowl game in Orlando.

Go UCF--Go MAC!
