Here is a quote from the article. It goes on to mention several schools that use low income housing to get athletes a cheap place to live - at the expense of poorer individuals. I seem to recall Ohio got low income housing for Barrett (???) the center on their basketball team.
[QUOTE]Iowa City, Ia. - University of Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz, who earned $1,950,000 last year, lives in a $946,000 house - one advantage of being the state government's highest-paid employee. Ferentz's son, Brian, a football player for the Hawkeyes, lived dirt-cheap this past school year in an apartment complex that was built for the poor - an advantage of being a college student with little or no income in the eyes of the federal government.
I can see where Ferentz would want his kid to live like a college student, but he could still give him enough to live in some tiny apartment with three other guys like I did.
