Lance Moore is the NCAA D-1 leader in pass receptions. NIU's P.J. Fleck is #2 and Marshall's Darius Watts is #3. Look down the list and see how many other MAC receivers are right up there near the top.

That's awesome. The MAC is looking good, and Toledo is leading the way. 04-rock
16 MAC recievers on that list.
The top 3 receivers are MAC players, and the next two are from teams who were beaten by MAC teams--very interesting.

And by the looks of things, one of these days Steve Odom will be right up there with the rest of them!
Right now Odom is in a tie for 81st place.....and he is just a freshman!!!

Interestingly enough, some people don't think Toledo leads the way.

I was listening to Jim Rome earlier today and he was talking to Spencer Tillman. Rome asked him about the non-BCS schools like TCU and NIU and do they have a chance, blah, blah, blah. Tillman went on to say that the non-BCS schools are at a disadvantage because when it comes down to it, it's all about money. Then he said that a school to jump to a BCS conference would have had to have a long track record of performing. He then gave examples of Marshall and NIU as schools that have paid their dues. No mention of Toledo. Guess he missed all the MACC games and bowl games that the Rockets have been to. When was NIU's last bowl game? They've really paid their dues.

1965 is the answer.

They don't even have a CONFERENCE championship since 1983.

Sure they're good now and for the past few years, but historically speaking?
Typical rhetoric from another couple of Big Money Conference groupies.

Marshall paid their dues? Please--they got busted because they paid their freakin' players!! Throw in the exam scandel, the ongoing thuggery, and--yeah--there's one solid winning tradition! They got tossed from the conference once, they come back and do the same thing again, and they give the conference credibility? C'mon...

NIU--did they not get tossed from the MAC as well? They come back, and finally put together a couple of good seasons, and that makes a long, respectable track record? How did they do at home against Toledo last year? Or, at Toledo the year before?

The Huskies deserve their props for what they've done this year, but the season is long from over.

GO HUSKIES, BEAT BUGS!
NIU is playing well there is no doubt about that, but they still have to make it past BG... then, they come to the Glass Bowl... They have only had a couple good seasons, that is correct... we have had 13 good seasons... did anyone see the fan poll on ESPN? Toledo actually got 800 + votes... that is absolutely amazing, considering we have never been mentiones at all before... The fortuneate and unfortunate thing is that Toledo is going to stay in the MAC...

don't know if anyone knew this, but the last Prez... Kapoor was trying to get us into the C-USA but, they didn't want us...
Just had a thought. Both Moore and Odom played at Westerville South. Think its a bit of nostalgia for some people watching them play together again?
I don't think NIU got kicked out of the MAC, I think they went independent because they thought it would help them build thier program.

Correct, Jeff.
Well, I think the MAC has made a powerful statement this year and anyone leaving now would be foolish... Does anyone know what the status of the BCS lawsuit is? whether it is legal or not? UTLAW... where are you when we need ya...

The Big East's law suit against the ACC was thrown out, but they still have a lawsuit against Miami. Miami has also opened a lawsuit against Pittsburgh, UCONN, Rutgers, and I think WVU saying that the school lost money by staying in the Big East with them over the last few years.

I think all the lawsuits will eventually be thrown out.
I don't think there is a BCS suit yet. I think the only formal thing that has happened is congressional hearings.
UTLAW... lez file that law suit... claiming it is an Oligopoly, Monopoly or a Cartel... either way, it is an illegal thing due to the anti trust laws...

A lawsuit will never happen if NIU runs the table and gets in a BCS bowl this year.
RF... we are playing NIU in the Glass Bowl... 'Stutz and the team is out to prove they are better than who showed up to play Syracuse... NIU is not getting past us...
 Oh I have all the confidence in the world that we will win. In fact, I think NIU is going to lose to BG also. But, if they don't and they run the table they could very well finish in the Top 6 of the BCS.
I am hoping and praying NIU beats BG... I'll bet they move up one or two more spots... they could likely come into the Glass Bowl a top 6 team... Woo Hoo... two top ten teams, decimated in one year... woo hoo!!!
I thought sure NIU got in some kind of serious trouble years ago and was cut from the conference. If not, wasn't there some kind of disciplinary action? (Or, maybe they just had some 'splainin' to do!)
