Marshall expects a minimum annual profit of $130,000 from C-USA's revenue sharing program, Marcum said. The school would offset an estimated $800,000 increase in travel costs with $930,000 from the league's football and men's basketball television packages and NCAA basketball tournament revenues, according to the university's projections for fiscal 2006.

-You better hope Southern Miss has a final four team, and big ratings for CUSA Football, otherwise you're going to be loosing money.

Marshall is focusing on near term money. That basketball money and TV contract is going to be a thing of the past once the likes of UC, Louisville, Marquette, DePaul, St. Louis and UNCC exit C-USA.

Overnight, C-USA will go from one of the top five basketball leagues in the nation to a less than stellar mid-major.

That is Herd logic/education for you. Do they not realize most/much of that money/bowls are going away with Cin. and Louisville?
The bowls' aren't much of a profit center. Conference USA schools spend quite a bit of television money propping them up. That will continue.

Marshall could benefit more financially if Conference USA dumped one or two of its weakest bowls.
