...for being the only MAC team that UB can beat. Our last MAC win was in 2001 vs. Ohio.

UB outscored OU 16-0 in the 4th Qtr and outgained OU 271 to 259 for the game. After watching Ohio compete with NIU a couple weeks ago I had my doubts about this one but glad to see UB came up big.
Hey, congrats! Way to go, Buffalo. 04-bow
Congrats to the Bulls!!!!! Live it up tonight!!!
NO BURNING FURNITURE!!!!! 04-bow 04-bow 04-bow
Great job Buffalo!! :bluethumb:
Congratulations.
I'M SPEECHLESS!

Nothing flukey about it. For once, the Bulls made all the big plays. And nobody from the opposition ran back a punt for a touchdown! UB's defense pretty much shut down Ohio for the last 3 quarters.

I missed the Marshall game last week, but that's 2 good back-to-back games! 04-bow

The only down side was the sparse crowd. I heard the announced attendence in the 4000's on the way home. It's too bad they couldn't play this well in front of the bigger crowds earlier in the season. (Giving up 600 yards and getting blown out by Colgate pretty much killed incentive to go see this team. 03-puke) Games like this should nip that attendence problem rather quickly. This is a football town.

Toledo got blown out this week...... hmmmmm........Could be much more interesting next week than I would have thought possible. I think that Toledo is too quick for UB, but I'd like to see the look on King Bob's face if UB could pull off the upset.
What a winning streak!! 04-bow

Seriously, congrats Bulls. 04-drinky
I am sure Army is saying thank you right now too.....sarcastically that is :)
Congrats on getting that gorilla (carrying a safe) off your back.
Way to go, Buffalo! 04-rock

Quote:The Buffalo defense forced four Ohio turnovers while harassing quarterback Ryan Hawk all game. Hawk was just 9-for-24 for 77 yards after taking over for starter Fred Ray.

Ray scored Ohio's first touchdown on a 14-yard first quarter run, then hooked up with Ray Huston for a 28-yard TD before leaving in the second quarter with a bruised right shoulder.
4000 in attendance? Ouch.
Lets Hear it for the Bulls

Big congrats Bulls! You needed that one!

I would be more eager to congratulate you if it wasn't for the fact that our season is over as of today. One thing is for sure, there are going to be a lot of people in Athens that are going to raising their voice for a change in leadership now. I tried to be positive, but it is really hard to be now.

Congrats on the win. Now use it for something!!! Don't lose the rest of your games otherwise all this win accomplishes is making us look bad and nothing for either of us. We had a one victory season two years back (yes, it wasn't against you--after our game is when your losing streak started) and let me tell you, that didn't go over well.

Good luck with the rest of your season.

OUr season ends here. 04-drinky

Since the game isn't being played in Muncie, IN. I have to say that I feel really bad for the Bulls' fans. Toledo is going to blow out Buffalo.
Congrats to the Bulls!! 04-bow
Congratulations, Bulls. I am always happy to see a MAC team break a nation's longest losing streak. I hate for the MAC to nearly always have that dubious distinction.
Congratulations Bulls. It's good to see and I hope Coach Hofher and his assistants can use the positives from this game and help bring about some more improvements. I have always felt that Buffalo should stay the course. It's a great town and being in only his second season he deserves a chance to see his first recruiting class as seniors and I wouldn't be suprised to see the Bulls just below or at .500 next season.

One positive note, there should be a new #1 in the Bottom Ten this week. :D 04-bow

If you want a change in your leadership after this loss, you can imagine how we UB fans have felt ! 18 losses in a row is ridiculous. We keep hearing Hofher say how the kids are "growing up" but until today, no results. I will say that 3 out of the last 4 games were a 9 pt loss at UCF, 10 pt loss vs. Marshall and now a win. At least that shows some improvement. We are hopeful that they can compete with Toledo, NIU and Kent to close out the season.

The real damage from this streak has been the toll it's taken on attendance. No home victory in 2 years. Many blowout losses. UB drew much better as a mediocre 1-AA team in UB Stadium as compared to being a 'bottom of the barrel' 1-A team. 20,000+ turned out for Colgate on opening night and people expected a win, only to see an embarrassing pummeling at the hands of the Red Raiders (who incidentally have turned out to be really good!) I walked out with many people who vowed never to come to a UB game again until they proved they can win some games. I agree that this win over Ohio must be followed up by some good performances. They need some momentum going into next season.
