If I was a Marshall fan, what would I rather see?

Memphis

New Orleans

Sac's back.
the name doesn't give it away at all though?!!
I have been to Athens and Memphis and I would choose Athens. Memphis is overated as a town. There is not much too it and Beal Street is a poor mans Nashville. I'd rather see Houston and New Orleans over the others.
Memphis vs. Athens
Gee BB King's Blues Club. Well, it's just a chain. We have one in Times Square. BHugh is correct that Memphis isn't all that, at least not anymore. It's got the requisite fake blues clubs and tourist shopping area like any city. You could just as easily be in Denver of Boston. It does have the Mississippi River running through, which is an advantage. I've never been to Athens, but I hear it is a nice place. This one's too close to call.

New Orleans vs. Bowling Green
Nice picture of the Cla-Zel. Mom and pop theaters like that just ain't too common anymore. New Orleans is fun if you're there for a big event. But Marshall-Tulane? You'd go out to Bourbon Street and be like, "Hey, I'm in town for the Marshall-Tulane game!" and people would look at you like you were from Mars.

Houston vs. DeKalb
Hands down DeKalb. Tall buildings are really something impressive I know, but most in Houston are empty. The place is a ghost town. Nothing to do and nobody within city limits.

Bottom line: If Marshall were suddenly playing their football games in Paris, it wouldn't make me feel ashamed of MAC towns and it wouldn't make the bulk of Marshall fans any more likely to go to their games.
Our resident flamethrower also chose quite selectively... I don't think it's a coincidence that he didn't post pictures of Hattiesburg, Miss., Greenville, N.C. or Birmingham, Alabammy, do you?
Hey, Birmingham--it's the Pittsburgh of The South!
:D
and he gave a whole new meaning to the words creativity and originality. Never heard of that name before..duh

idiot.
I must say this poster did provide a chuckle. One question though. Who would rather visit Huntington? Hay-Would?
What's next, Phil Magroin?, Mike Hunt? Nita Lay?
Actually I find it repulsive, as there is a Haywood Jablowmie who is a regular in the CFPool (and does pretty well). If you're going to take a fake name, don't steal one of a long-time and knowledgable college football fan.

Ehhh. Doubtful.

I'm doing some source tracing....

KMLS was using RR out of Fort Lauderdale, FL.

That IP *appears* to be out of Texas City, TX

GTS, "appears" is probably the correct word. Sac's other nom de plume used to post whole threads at the Rocket Report demonstrating that he knew how to *gasp* IP spoof.
Really?

IP spoofing is easy with a full set of sockets like in Linux. Bill Gatus of the Borg just had to introduce full sockets in Winblowz. I'm check the server, bc IP spoofing is really a joke.

Anyway, if my memory serves me correctly, IP spoofing is illegal and would be a federal crime since it comes in under the FCC.

If the source does trace back to Texas City, TX -- and we see more KMLS material, I'll start digging through the server.

IP spoofing is VERY easy to get around. All it is really is a few falsified packets of data passed in the stream. The server could easily filter those out and pass it to me in a nice printout to present to an ISP.

And since I'm just now getting over mono, I'm in no mood for that kinda crap.

So, if that was him, he was just exposed by someone who can't legally drink yet. 04-cheers
if he could spoof a mac address however, now that would be a little more intresting.
Greenville NC=nice weekend trip to the outer banks

Hattiesburg=nice weekend trip to Biloxi

Birmingham=........you got me on that one
Greenville's 150 miles from the Outer Banks.

But Birmingham has a 56-feet tall statue of Vulcan, the world's largest iron behemoth!

And DeKalb is less than an hour from Chicago and Lake Michigan, Kent is a stone's throw from Cleveland and the Rock 'n Roll HOF, Miami is right outside Cincinnati, WMU is near the Dunes in SW Mich., CMU is near the ski resorts, etc., etc., etc. That wasn't the argument your fellow Herdie made...

Your flamethrowing compadre posted pictures of the exact TOWNS, with no credit for what they were located near. You either have to defend Greenville and Hattiesburg for what they are (giving credit to the MAC towns in the process) or you have to give the MAC towns credit for being close to some world-class destinations as well. One or the other...

You can't compare apples to oranges and get away with it on this board...
And bowling green is located near Toledo.
Gosh, BG & UT are near Cedar Point! 04-drinky Roller Coasters 03-puke
