First, congratulations to NIU, BG, Miami and Toledo for their tremendous performances thusfar this season. The recognition, respect and attention you have brought to the MAC is greatly appreciated.

Second, congratulations to Miami on a big win last night. It was an awesome performance against a very, very good BG team, you should be very proud of your student athletes. Also, what a wonderful atmosphere for college football. A great crowd that was energetic and loud all game...what a wonderful display of MAC football for national TV...hopefully we'll get a repeat of the crowd (and the weather) for next Wednesday.

I just looked at the calendar today and realized it is approaching mid-November and we all know what that means. Yep, it is finally time for the ol' spotlight to return back to the beautiful metropolis of Huntington, WV. It is finally time for champions to step forward and shine the light back on the defending conference champions. The preseason is now over so its time for BG and NIU and Miami to go into their annual hibernation and time for champions to wake up and again prove why we've won 6 consecutive East division titles.
Now enough of all the talk about NIU and BG and Miami. Yeah it was nice while it lasted, but it is now mid-November...time for the Herd to regain the spotlight!

We're gonna be on those Redskins like stink on a polecat!

Go Herd!
Ah yes, this week's non-conference opponent.

What's the West Virginia term for narcissist?

Apt analogy.
Should be a good one in Oxford next week. I know for a fact that Marshall will play to win, unlike BGSU. I like our chances better since MUr won. They have a good football team. The punt return guy scares the crap outtame!! BUT, We have some decent receivers and our running game is stronger than BG's. I also like the fact that we usually keep a RB in the pocket for pass protection. Harris just didn't have the time he needed to find receivers. Also, are there any receivers on the BG squad other than Manger?? We have some chances with Watts & Davis. Pick your poision. I know there will be a lot of folks watching (even Odd), and when it's RedHawk vs Herd - you know it will be entertaining. How many points do we get as a heavy underdog?? I think we will use the 'dog role to good advantage.

Go HERD!!!

Your running games isn't half as good as BG's, and that's just the jumping off point for what's inaccurate about that post. This game is going to be fun. 03-nutkick
wsherdfan: I don't understand the reference that BG didn't "play to win". They got beat on the road by the better team. BG will come back to live another day.

Marshall's running game not half as good as BG's? 03-confused But ESPN ranks Marshall @ 24 in the Nation BG @ 20, Marshall averges 190.6, BG 199.7 RYPG. I don't see much difference.
Miami is going to run up the score on Marshall. This game will be uglier than a 50-cent whore at a convention of circus freaks.

Marshall had better hope the MAC can get four bowls this year. That's their only hope.
If Miami plays Marshall as good as they did against BG, then they will be the new East Division Champs. Miami would go to 6-0 with Marshall 4-2 with just 2 games remaining. That would clinch the MACC spot for Miami.

Knowing that Marshall seems to find ways to get it done I would not count them out yet, but if Miami plays good enough they will not lose to Marshall at home.
This is the year Marshall doesn't win the MAC East division...if you say that enough times it eventually might come true...then again it might not. 05-nono

Maybe you guys should start saying:

"This is the year that Marshall wins at Toledo."

If you keep saying it.....well, you won't win but at least you might feel better.
SCHADENFRUEDE - Me thinks you are still sore about the mistake-prone effort last nite. We shall see.

ODD - with you I always consider the source. Since you didn't provide one, you statement is irrelevant. Oh, I see - that was just your opinion!! Even less relevant to the upcoming game. The Rockets will have their hands full of Huskies soon, and then your season will effectively be finished.

Marshall will bring a more balanced offense to test Miami's D. We shall see who will prevail.

Go HERD!!!

I am.

But I do believe, with all my heart, that Miami is going to beat Marshall like Ike beat Tina.
I wont be surprised when UT and Marshall face each other on 12/4 for the MACC. I think Miami is the better team, but the Herd has a knack for winning this type of game.
