Miami of Ohio fans will hate this, but the Herd will win in Oxford. And, I think it will be by two TDs -- or more. The Redskins are going to choke. The MAC East title is their's -- with a win over a Marshall team with its first-string QB out for the season.
But the Herd players have been there too many times. That experience will be the difference.
And this win will be the best among the last six in a row.

And what can you say about Miami students, heralded as the cheatingest students in the country?

I'll have to share that one with the Miami grads working for me.

I can honestly say, I won't miss the MAC, pompous Miami fans and the boorish others who make this a miserable conference.

Goodbye, good riddance and have fun at the Motor City Bowl.

One thing you have to say: The MAC has become a whole lot better since the Herd showed up and showed you how to play. We raised the bar. We owned MAC football since 1997. Five MAC titles out of six. Wow!!!

MAC fans are among the worst in the nation. I've covered college football for years, but you guys are something else. The inferiority complexes are incredible. You can't compliment anyone; you have to hurls darts -- all the time. On this board, for example, someone can post about WMU, and another poster will blast Marshall. It's nothing but title envy.

You can take all of your swimming championships, track titles and soccer trophies: I don't care about any of them. Football is king. I'll take one football championship over 30 volleyball titles.

I know that when it was announced that Marshall would rejoin the MAC, I was excited. We had a good relationaship with I-AA fans across the country and the msg boards were fun.

Almost immediately the crap started. MAC posters informed us how Marshall couldn't possible compete in the conference ... that going up against I-A teams weekly would take its toll ... that playing in the cold would be too much for a team used to playing in the South. Our 1996 I-AA national championship team would have gone undefeated in the MAC -- easily.

The Southern Conference was much tougher. Marshall won two outright titles there. The MAC has been much easier.

Cya, folks. Have fun. Root for Ohio State and Michigan. Wear your Buckeye and Wolverine apparel proudly.

To DoDo, Oddball and Devilgrad: Who are you going to spew your poison at now? What a bunch of morons.

LMFAO
My poison? Interesting.
tell us how you really feel flherd!!!!
Check your own board for nastiness, FLHerd. See how they turned Big Ben's admiration for Chad into just another opportunity to belittle him. It's very difficult to even pay a compliment to (most) Herd fans, 'cause it's thrown right back "in your face". There are many MAC fans (like me) that initially welcomed Marshall back into the league, but after 6 years of boorish and childish fans like you I am fine with your passing to C-USA lite.

By the way, be sure to watch your new conference mates on the tube tonight......I'm sure they will treat the national TV audience to a SO crowd just like BG and Miami did last night. Enjoy the "big time" in C-USA lite!
eeeeeek  FLHERD just waved a huge RED flag in front of the Woofing Gods.

<a href='http://www.cae.wisc.edu/~dwilson/rsfc/Woof.html' target='_blank'>Beware of the Woofing Gods</a>

btw, did y'all catch the ESPN complete and utter dis' of Marshall and their retreating to a "leftovers" conference while fading from glory?

FHF, you've got a lot of balls. You cry because the OTHER MAC posters thought their teams would beat Marshall when they first come to the league. So they had a severe misperception of the quality of play at the top of D1AA. Big deal. We all learned.
Spewing crap like "goodbye, good riddance, have fun in the MCB" and "we owned the MAC since 1997" is just exactly what so many of us HATE about some of the Marshall posters. Personally, I have a Marshall poster or two that I consider friends. But garbage like that does nothing but alienate the rest of the conference, and a good fistful of Marshall fans have been doing it since day one. They've got excuses when they lose (oh, we had our backup QB!!), and pound their chests when they win. Can't win OR lose with any grace whatsoever. I'll miss Marshall in the MAC. I won't miss the arrogant posters with their superior attitudes (even when they really don't have anything to feel superior about).

Have a nice day.
This is my nomination for "typical Herd post of the week." I know the week is young, and all kinds of LGI's are bound to come out of the woodwork, but for achieving the lofty status of being a parody of one's self, it doesn't get any better than this!

Nice post, Mr. Landon! 04-bow

Miami will play their best game of the year. The Herd suffers the worst defeat since Toledo hung 42 unanswered points on their cheatin' @sses. The entire MAC laughs and says "buh bye!"

I'm going to put my money where my mouth is on this game.......but I am not betting with a Herd fan, or any fan for that matter. Vegas, here I come with my money on the Redhawks!

Gimmie Miami -10
I have some mixed emotions about this one. Part of me would like to see the Redskins drill Marshall and then return to the Doyt so we can pay them back for last night. On the other hand it would be sweet to destroy Marshall in the Doyt like we did in 1998.

So many choices...

:D
Does Northern play in the Doyt now????????

Go crawl back into the woodwork you BUG frauds.

NIU are frauds too. I'll be surprised to see anyone but Toledo representing the west in the MACC.

I may give the Rockettes fans a hard time, but I at least respect their program. These BUGS and NIU guys are hilarious, though. Haven't done squat and all they do is talk. Come back when you've at least PARTICIPATED in a conference championship.
Oh, that's right, the conference came into existence when we allowed Hillbilly U to come crawling back in. All those titles we won before the "can't cheat, can't win" crowd polluted the conference were a figment of our collective imaginations, right jughead?

It's your self-absorption that proves your ignorance. NIU and Marshall each went to the state of Alabama to play this year. NIU came out with a win over one of the most storied programs in the history of college football while Marshall lost to the just came up to division 1A ten minutes ago Troy State. This after pulling a nice upset at Kansas State.

See, NIU followed their big upset against Maryland up with two more wins over BCS schools. Marshall followed theirs up by losing at some podunk nobody, then "defended" their home turf by losing to Toledo. Now, who is the fraud??

You're just sore that NIU, BG and Miami are getting all the press this year because you've shown to be a one-shot and done this year.
