That will strengthen UT's SOS. Good game though, Pitt looks like they might take the big east now. They host Miami as i recall.
Ya gotta second guess Tech Coach Beamer for not calling timeouts once Pitt had a first-and-goal. While I understand the reasons for not calling a timeout, i.e., giving Pitt time to rest plus the perception your defense might not hold; you HAVE TO DO what gives your team the best opportunities to win. Call time-outs and...

You try to slow Pitt's offensive momentum.
You give your defense some rest.
If Pitt scores, you give your team two-plus minutes to attempt to get into field goal range.

As it turned out, Pitt runs two plays and the clock ticks down to less than a minute left before Virginia Tech finally calls a timeout due to confusion.

Additionally, a few minutes earlier VPI tries a long pass on 4th and moderate yardage, instead of attempting either an option or timing/possession pass route.

Gotta give the Virginia Tech a D- in coaching those last four minutes of the game.

Meanwhile, congrats to Pitt... they continue to control their own destiny in the Big East, with Miami coming to The Ketchup City in a few weeks.

By the way, anyone notice the Three Big Leastkateers (B.C., Miami, and VPI), lost today?
