Not to be lost in all the hype and chat regarding opener with Maryland, the overall schedule , games on national TV, improving facilities etc, let's not lose sight of the significance of achieving our fifth consecutive winning season and best streak since going D-1....
While always looking forward , it's also useful to occasionally look back from where we came from not so very long ago... a few here talk about NIU football based upon 10 wins including some unforgettable thrills beating Bama and Maryland in same season like its simply a stepping stone to football's promised land for god sakes....how many programs have even won divisional title or MAC conference title or bowl games in the past decade? Look at the BT and how many years does it come down to OSU and Michigan, 7 of 10?
FWIW/BTW: NIU's longest string of consecutive winning seasons says ALOT about our former college division days ..... Chick Evans was primarily responsible for 21 consecutive winning seasons (I'm including one 3-1- 3 record) ...imagine how difficult that is to duplicate....
Keep the Faith. Enjoy each moment. Dream large but maintain a perspective. Remember : other teams oftentimes have more recruiters covering the nation , plus offseason and strength programs , better paid coaches, "blue chip athletes", ambitions, resources and larger fan/alumi base than do the Huskies.
Go Huskies . Beat Maryland !
