After a slow start, previously ranked Maryland has come back to 7-3 with their victory over Virginia (5-5) tonight, 27-17. Makes NIU's win look a tad more formidable.
It also makes it tougher for UVa to be bowl eligible.
I mentioned in a post on Ay-Ziggy-Zoomba.com after our loss to BG that I believed MD was the most talented team we've played this year - not meant as a slam on BG, but that's a talented team with a lot of speed on D, and they'll hit ya. The stat before the game had Md's scoring D as 6th in the nation after 9 games - not bad.

They lost to NIU and FSU in the first two games. 0-2 doesn't make you look great, but NIU is 9-1 and FSU has shown themselves to be a very good team. But MD has made a great turnaround and is in position to still possibly win the ACC and represent them in the BCS. That'd be a hell of a coup for them and NIU to have beaten them!! 04-rock

UVA is 5-5 and needs a win to become bowl eligible. They look like a talented, young team, but have to do the Tech school two-step against Ga Tech and Va Tech.

It is possible that MAC teams will have beaten the ACC, Big 10 and Big East Champs.

Sure, the MAC teams have losses...BECUASE THEY HAVE TO PLAY EACH OTHER!

Honestly, if Purdue, UMd and Pitt are in 1st place after this weekend, the MAC needs to start promoting this fact BIG TIME.
