So, I didn't hear.......Did the MCB offer BG the bid?
Hasn't been announced yet...should be coming out either tonight or tomorrow... Eventhough it would be a travesty don't be surprised if BG doesn't get the invitation.
In most cases it's announced immediately after the game at the latest. Why do you think BG might not get the invite, FF?

Are you serious? No disrespect for NIU or UT, but how would they jump past BG in the selection? BG hasn't been to a bowl in 11 years, had good attendance, and a great record.

Are you just being pessimistic, or do you have some information?
With how the bowl pickings go, nothing surprises me. One of the MCB committee members is a Toledo Alum. That is why I am optimistic. Either the GMAC or the MCB was at the Glass Bowl and ready to offer NIU the bowl if they beat Toledo, so why are we waiting for the team to be announced for the MCB with the MACC already set up?
Now this is strictly internet RUMOR, and more than likely there's not any truth to it.... With that said, I've read a couple message boards indicating that NIU is offering the MCB a guaranteed purchase of 25k tickets.

NIU fans, any word on that RUMOR from your front?

<span style='font-size:30pt;line-height:100%'>BEAT bg!!! </span>
The NCAA and the MCB would catch so much heat if that were the case.
Is it possible a "deal" might be in the works?

Perhaps nationally ranked Bowling Green is being pushed to play TCU in the Fort Worth Bowl so Northern Illinois could play silver spoon Northwestern in the MCB.

This MAC fan can only hope.
Fast Fact: If BGSU wins the MACC, the Motor City Bowl MUST select them.
The MCB will have sacrifice what little credibility it has if BG is passed over.
So Is BG guranteeing 26,000 tickets being sold?
Well something is up. UT was offered the MCB invite 2 or 3 games before the MACC ever took place last year.

How many tickets has Miami gaurenteed the GMAC bowl? When did it become mandatory to purchase a spot in a bowl game?
How in the %#% can NIU gaurantee 25K? They can't even get that many to come to one of their home games. BG or Toledo would bring more than NIU due to their proximity to Detroit. I don't see the Ft. Worth Bowl having any interest in BG/Toledo/NIU when Tulsa is sitting there a few hours away.

It would be cool to see 3 MAC teams in bowls. But if they are playing far from Ohio I doubt anyone will show up. Where is their revenue in that?
Come on, folks...the MCB probably just sees BUGS for the $#!& hole of a school that it is, and would prefer anyone else. It's perfectly understandable...

hmmm...over the past 3 years you guys are what??? 7-28? Quite impressive I must say, maybe Ohio should go to C-USA as well, chances are greater you could win a league title there, or at least be in contention for one.

Moral to the story: Don't talk smack when your team is 2-10.

You mean "summa *** laude"? That was either an excellent joke, or a really poor retort. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say the former.

And, before any more BUGS fans get their panties in a bunch, I was just ribbing ya'll a little...it's called being facetious. No serious disrespect intended. 04-bow 04-bow
Ok heres the story...the local news just got done interviewing some guy named Mike Huffman who is one of the head guys on the MCB selection committee. He said that "BG is definitely in the driver's seat", "That they want to make sure they select the best team possible because of how competitive the MAC has been this year", and that "No decision will be made til after the MACC".

Which is a load of crap because like I said last year UT was given the invite 2 or 3 games before the MACC in a equally competitive 2002 MAC season. BG and UT had identical records at the end of the regular season at 9-3 and NIU was at 8-4. But we have to wait AFTER the MACC to see who gets an invite? BG is 10-2, will be ranked no less than 25 in the ESPN and 22 in the AP polls, West Division Champs, and is no more than an hours drive to Detroit....now who is blowing who?? If thats the case Krebs better get to sucking.
