I think they're trying to get Marshall.

Don't count out the Herd for a bowl!
Dr Torch - I have all but given up on MU's chances for a bowl......maybe I am missing your intent (tongue firmly planted in cheek??). Why would MCB want us over BG or NIU ?? Don't jump in too quick, Odd,
give it a chance to be discussed before the usual cheaters/rednecks/
don't deserve a bid rhetoric.

Go HERD!!!

Your welcome. Seriously Odd, what do you make of all of this? Is Toledo in the running for an at-large bid, and if so where??

This stuff will drive ya crazy.

Go HERD!

BTW - I'll be pullin' for BGSU Thurs nite - Payback to the RedHawks would be sweet and mess up whatever plans the MCB committee has
for NIU.

I think that it is possible that Toledo might have been invited to the MCB if they had won yesterday. That would explain why Mr. Hoffman was there, but no offer was extended. I also believe that if the MCB did indeed offer UT the bid, it wasn't because they actually wanted the Rockets for a third year, but only because they have such a dog for a Big 10 participant that they needed the fans that Toledo would deliver. The fact that BG beat us yesterday makes it all moot anyway. Toledo is not going to be offered a bowl game, imo, nor do we deserve one over BG.

In order, this is who I believe deserves bowls this year:

Miami - win or lose on Thursday, they have been both consistent and impressive.
BG - as much as it pains me to say it, they won the right to go bowling yesterday over everyone but Miami.
Toledo - NIU fans may find this biased, but Toledo came on strong after a mid-season slump, and owns head-to-head over the Huskies.
NIU - quality BCS wins and a 10-2 record put them way ahead of a lot of the teams going bowling this season.
Marshall - I can't explain either their win over KSU, or their loss to Troy St...they're neither that good or that bad, however, they're better than teams selected ahead of them, too. If 5 bids were available, they would deserve one.
