Tough loss for the 'Cats. Once again we had the lead at halftime, but went through an offensive drought in the 2nd half. I'm beginning to question the coaching.

Our defensive pressure, though, was excellent, forcing Toledo (a guard oriented team) into 20+ turnovers. Our press will cause some problems in the MAC this year.

We had a shot at taking the lead with under 2 left, but it rimmed out. Toledo deserves credit for converting down the stretch.

Don't count the 'Cats out yet, though. It is still very early, and this is a very inexperienced team.
The Rockets and the Bobcats both had 17 turnovers. Keith Triplett took the game over at both ends of the court in the 2nd half with 17 points and 3 steals in the final period.

This was a really big win for Toledo. The Rockets are using a lot of freshman in the line up. Sometimes they will have 3 or 4 frosh on the floor together. To win a conference game on the road this early in the season with that many freshman playing is a major accomplishment. 5 of the Rockets next 6 games will be on the road with a young team, including trips to DePaul and Louisville.

December could be a long, cold month so this conference win feels really good.

It was great to see Delvar Barrett have a good game. You gotta root for that guy to have a great season after all he has been through.
Final: CMU 71, Marist 67. After taking a 19 point lead eleven minutes into the game, CMU spent the rest of the game allowing the Red Foxes to creep closer. The biggest difference? CMU shot a sizzling 54.5%, including 44.4% from outside the arc. 04-bow Marist shot a less-than-stellar 36.2% and a putrid 18.2% outside the arc.
