Sources in Hattiesburg say that if TCU decided to head for the moutains that C-USA Presidents are prepared to hand an invitation to Miami of Ohio imediately.

This was breaking news when I heard it earlier tonight, but it comes from a source who rarely has incorrect information.

<a href='http://www.ncaabbs.com/forums/confusa/invision/index.php?act=ST&f=22&t=1412' target='_blank'>Miami (OH) to C-USA?</a>
They may offer, but I don't think Miami (OH) will accept.

Interesting comments from Herd fans...seems they're a bit worried about geography and finding a rival. Funny how they sing a different tune on this board.

Me neither ..
Lets see, TCU leaves, may take Houston with them. Big East decides that 2 more FB schools is a nice fit and guarantees BCS status so they take Memphis and ECU. Then Marshall and Mia could play each other 5 times to make an interesting season. No MAC school could be that stupid, especially Mia. Marshall would be for sure. 03-lol
correct me if I am wrong RedHawks, but I think that Miami, BG, Toledo, and Ohio U will always be in the same conference. Miami or any other team would gain nothing from moving.

I remember hearing that same sort of thing last year from a head coach, Urban "I'm not going anywhere" Meyer. :)
yeah yeah yeah, and Pruett said he never was talking to UHouston about a job.
The Mountain West should go after Boise State and Fresno State. They fit better and aren't nearly as whiny as TCWho?

Hey, if Meyer goes to Nebraska, does Pruett go to Utah?

I know, I know.....just trying to start some rumors here!

Houston
Kansas
Texas Tech
Many I-AA Teams
And Even
Miami FL

Have came calling for Pruett and hes still there
Miami, FL wanted Bobby? Did Butch Davis or Larry Coker need a mixologist?
Actually, he ACCEPTED a Job a UHOUSTON and then backed out after Fox Sports outed him. All those other "offers" were unsubstantiated GrapeVine rumors.
To take us back to original topic. Does anybody really believe in their mind (not their heart) that UM would turn down such an offer? I believe that the offer will never come but if it did, I would be completely shocked if they didn't. It's all about the Benjamins.

There is a shake-up going on, schools are making decisions now to prepare for the next several years.

Yes, I do. Obviously I don't know what the details of an offer would be from C-USA, but unless they are offering some big time compensation for travel costs I don't see Miami saying yes to the offer.

Miami University is about more than just football, and their other sports would be in really bad shape with those travelling costs.
Who is UM?

I will hazard a guess that I know a bit more about the decision making process at Miami than you do, and I'll ask you to stipulate that I'm in my right mind. That said, I would be absolutely shocked to learn that Miami would seriously entertain an invite to CUSA, much less accept it.

It is NOT all about the Benjamins, and, even if it were, differently situated reasonable people can disagree over the right decision.
Remember O Herdzone, when an AD gives his support to his coach, it is time for the coach to polish his resume. When an AD says we are staying, Buy a new set of luggage, just in case. Administrators are really in the business of honor. Look at Auburn. 05-nono 05-nono

Um, no they didn't.

Now you've really gone and made them mad. UM is the school in Coral Gables . MU was a school before Flori-duh was a state. The RedHawks do not like the confusion.

Is that what ESPN said when they called to renegotiate Con USA's contracts, and not for the better?

That's why I'd be very afraid if I were a Marshall fan.

(Hey, they look good in Div IAA, and they maintained those good relationships w/ the Southern Conf.)
