Within a year or two, I think the bowl landscape will change. So maybe the MAC should do its best to be patient.
The reason I'm saying this is because of the approaching end of the current BCS system. This year, we're seeing wholesale changes in conference alignment. Next year we'll see the end of the current BCS system. I feel that major changes in the current bowl system will follow. And right now nobody knows for sure what's going to happen with further conference realignment, changes in the BCS system, and bowl changes.
Let's hope the MAC can benefit from these changes. I think the main thing for the MAC to do now is to seek continued improvement in its on the field performance, seek continued improvement in its scheduling, seek overall better attendance, seek improvement in some of the lesser performing members, and perhaps seek to change its system for the MAAC game. I really believe that if we can improve in these areas, then the bowl picture for the MAC will also improve.
It seems to me that the MAC is maintaining its integrity in dealing with the bowl situation. I suspect this is not the case with some other conferences.
