JASON Kaminski has a reputation as a seek-and-destroy linebacker.
But lately the former Virginia prep star has been doing more seeking than destroying.
Until now.
Kaminski's football odyssey which took him from C.D. Hylton High School in Woodbridge, Va., to Hargrave prep school to Bowling Green University to Northern Virginia Community College appears to have ended. The 6-foot-4, 235-pound linebacker reportedly has given Marshall a verbal commitment.
Phew.
I probably took the word right out of Kaminski's mouth.
It all began after he led C.D. Hylton to consecutive Virginia state championships. After spending the 2001 season at Hargrave, Kaminski signed with Bowling Green. But, then, he suffered a broken leg during the 2002 season and was redshirted.
When Bowling Green Coach Urban Meyer left to take over Utah's program, Kaminski also departed. He enrolled in Northern Virginia junior college and is scheduled to graduate in April.
Kaminski, who hasn't played a down of collegiate football, will be eligible immediately and have three years to play.

KAMINSKI RAISES Marshall's number of verbal commitments to six. The other five include:
* Joe Bragg, 6-5, 250-pound tight end from Morgantown High School.
Marcus Fitzgerald, 5-10, 195-pound running back from Minneapolis, Minn., who is scheduled to enroll in January.
* Doug Legursky, 6-1, 315, lineman from Beckley High School.
* Jon Moravec, 5-10, 180, safety from Frederick, Md.
* Mandell Smith, 6-4, 200-pound wide receiver from Holmes (Miss.) Community College.
Two other current Marshall players won't be members of the 2004 recruiting class, but will count against the scholarship totals. The pair are center Zac Elcess, who transferred from Miami (Ohio), and quarterback Bernard Morris. Both players will go on scholarship for the spring semester.
