I heard they was gonna let him do the Lambeau Leap , I'm a
life long Packer fan , and I'm glad that didn't happen , would
have been " bush leauge " IMO ....

But I'm gald he made the catch against Minnesota ... 04-bow
With Driver not being so hot, I wonder if the Packers will make a bid to bring Poole over.

The Cardinals were in such flux, especially at WR, did Poole ever start? I realize NFL competition is tough, but I always thought he was good enough. Maybe not a superstar like Owens or Moss but, give him the reps and I think he can contribute.
Nate Poole couldn't stay on the active roster of the Arizona Cardinals, a team that let it's best WRs leave in the offseason. That was a great catch, but I'm not sure he's truly a prospect for major minutes, especially in a talented young stable of WRs like Green Bay has.

I believe that Carl Ford is still with the Packers, too. They were very impressed with him before he got injured during the preseason.
I tell you who I really feel for, old Chester 'the molester' Taylor........getting knocked out of the playoffs by the Titans last week and all. BTW NIU fans, Justin McCarreins has now officially redeemed himself for his dumb fumble in the regular season game with the Colts! He made a great TD catch against the Ravens to help seal the 'W'.

One of these days Lewis if going to miss a game and Chester's days as a backup will be numbered. He obviously won't replace Lewis, but he'll be a starter somewhere.
Did you guys hear about the regular season game between the Ravens and the Titans. The Titans defense stuffed Lewis in that game too. Late in the game Taylor got in and had an 18 yard TD run. After the game Lewis said that Chester kept telling him all game to start one way and then cut the other against the Titans D. Chester did just that when he scored. Lewis then said "I should have listened to him!"

Chester has a lot of knowledge for the game and knows the defenses he goes up against. He will definitely be a starter some day. Right now he is unfortunate because he is backing up the top rusher in the NFL.

He went late enough that the Lions should have drafted him. Look what they have now...

I wish that the Lions had drafted Chester. However, I'm impressed with Pinner. They say he's not even ready to play football yet due to injuries. When he gets healthy, I think he's going to be a very good back.

They have a chance to redeem themselves this year by selecting Michael Turner.
all they need to do is lure Barry out of retirement and ax Millen!

I'd love to see Turner as a Lion, but I think they need to use their first pick on another stud receiver. Harrington needs someone to throw to. The biggest problem they had this year, imo, was a lack of playmakers at that position. Rogers is only part of the answer.

...and, for the love of all that is holy, FIRE BILL SCHROEDER!!!
Quote:Poole and his wife Neville attended the game Sunday as guests of mayor Jim Schmitt, who gave him a key to the city.

Imagine his disappointment when he discovered the "key" was to the mayor's ice hut on the bay.
Mayor Schmitt: "We got venison sausage and cinnamon schnapps out dere, dontchaknow! Okeedokee, dats livin, eh Mang?!" :D

Quote:The Pooles took in the first half from his 50-yard line seats about 35 rows up but with the wind chill index in single digits, they accepted an offer to watch the rest of the game from a luxury suite.

Translation=they got to sit on a higher branch on the tree, wrapped in an orange hunting vest and slathered in doe scent.....

I'm not sure Turner goes in the 1st round, so the Lions could take Fitzgerald (as you seem to be alluding to) and get Turner later.

I never liked Millen, always thought he was a dope. But, Mariucci can coach.

I don't know how Rogers would do w/ Fitzgerald around, he always struck me as a head case.

The Lions could use help on the lines too, and at DB. (Va Tech has a decent DB coming out, and Chris Gamble could be a new and improved William White.)

Frankly, I think this is a deep enough draft that the Lions could do well.

Just stop making the stupid moves in FA (Az Hakim, Schroeder...)

I don't like Millen anymore, either, and think he should have been fired after calling Johnnie Morton a "******". HINT: Lions fans have a lot more affection for Morton than we'll ever feel for you, Matt. On the other hand, he does draft pretty well. His FA deals have sucked on the offensive side of the ball, for the most part.

I'd love to see Fitzgerald in Detroit, but at the #6 position, I doubt it will happen. There are some other excellent receivers coming out, though. Roy Williams or Michael Jenkins would be good fits, imo, particularly Jenkins.
I'd be VERY surprised to see the Lions take another WR that high - that'd be a lot of coin wrapped up in the WR position, with no good RB.

I think that they do have a good RB. They didn't get him until there were only two games left in the season, and he wasn't at 100%, but he's going to be good.

You may be right about the WR spot, but they need serious help there. No point in having a gunslinger for a QB if you have  Bill Schoeder  running the wrong routes and dropping sure TDs.

Who's the RB, Pinner? Good luck with that.

You may need WRs....well, actually, you definitely NEED WRs....but more of the 3rd/4th round variety, not another top 10 first round pick that you have to pay millions to. There are too many holes on that team to wrap up all your money in a QB and 2 WRs.
