The Ohio University College of Communication consistently ranks as one of the nation's best communications programs, with graduates, faculty and students who have been awarded or involved with at least 24 Pulitzer Prizes. In addition, Writers Digest Magazine ranks the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism among the top five journalism schools nationally. "Investigative journalists do an important job, bringing to light things that we wouldn't know," said Ursula Farfel. "Gilbert and I admire their courage and tenacity, and we wanted to do something to award them for that."

BSU's journalism school is ranked higher than either of them...

No one.
oh yeah Ohio might have a fine Communications College, but, ummm...

Homer Simpson (Dan Castallaneta) went to NIU!

Ok look, we produce teachers and produce them well, we have an oustanding business program. We have an elite Public Administration program and strong music and fine arts. This is what we do well. Can we all just accept that we're pretty much all comparable schools with our own strengths and weaknesses? Or are we just going to move on to debating which school's president has a bigger johnson?
I hate to give the OU school props (I'm a Kent JMC Grad) But I believe there is a Simpsons grad from OU.
Don't quote me, but Nancy Cartwright (Bart) went to OU.

Plus Batman went to Kent State. Beat that.
Oh, yeah, well, Janet from "Three's Company" went to Ball State.

So there. :D
Bart Simpson did go to OU. So did Arsenio. Not sure if thats a slam or a compliment.
Kit-Cat went to OU, now that's a slam!

We are not all schools lying deep within the shadows of our Big 10 counterparts, academically or in perception. Some MAC schools are in the shadow.....some are not. Some are regional schools just serving the needs of the community.....others are competing nationally.

Having Arsenio-cheeseball-Hall as an alumni is definitely not a good thing. 03-razz

She's from West Virginia.
And she obviously knew she'd have to leave the state to get a superior education.

:D
I seem to remember another late-night television personality who went to a MAC school that's not OU...has a little show in New York...but we all knew that, didn't we?03-wink

Unless you count PJ O'Rourke, Miami doesn't really have high-profile entertainment grads, so we have to make do with guys like this to represent us. 03-wink
BG can claim Tim Conway. "The Appple Dumpling Gang" was pure comedic genius.
I prefer Dorf on Golf!

Only thing close to cooler is "Q" from Star Trek...a '71 Flash grad.
