Pitt WR Larry Fitzgerald has thrown his name into the NFL draft even though he has only been in college for two years.

Good. Him being there may force a team on the fence above my Browns to take him instead of an o-lineman. Please, pretty please let Gallery fall to Cleveland.

And unlike Mo'reece, everything seems to be on the up and up.

How does this affect Pitt? From my hazed recollections, all they had was Rutherford besides Fitzgerald. I know they have a top QB coming in next season but who will he throw to? I don't remember any other Pitt receivers being top doggs. I guess it looks like Pitt is doomed to always be on the "cusp", and never really be able to make the jump into true National contenders.
The only reason Rutherford was any good is because of Fitzgerald. You take #1 out of that lineup....and the Pitt offense is in serious trouble.
Pitts TE torched the Rockets a couple of times, whether he was able to do it against anyone else I have no idea, but against Toledo he seemed to be pretty decent.
Their TE is pretty good. Rutherford was a senior though and without Fitzgerald they do not have a proven go to guy at receiver. Their offense will be hurting this fall. Too bad we don't play them this fall instead of 2006. They might be in better shape by then.
