Fox Sports Ohio has Akron/CMU on.

Akron 35
CMU 31
:32 1st half
Did the officiating look as bad on TV as it did in person at the game? These three blind mice,er refs were each calling a totally different game. One called everything, one called nothing, and one had no idea what was going on with wildly inconsistant calls. I think at least 5 players fouled out and there was almost a fight at the end of the first half. Anyways, it was a good win for the Zips. :chair: :) :)
I watched the game and it wasn't exactly a showcase of MAC basketball. You are dead on, hilltopper, about the officiating--very inconsistent. The players could have no idea what a charge was from these 3 guys. Did you see Tarver fly into a totally set Brigitha and they called a charge? Hilarious, unless you cared about the outcome. Plus, both teams were very sloppy--lots of unforced turnovers, bad passes, bad shots.
Tarver could have scored 50 if he wanted, but he took about 1/3 of the game off.
Then CMU just quit at the 3 minute mark! Pulled the defense back and let Akron stand out front and dribble the ball uncontested until the shot clock wound down on possession after possession. Damn, Jay--you ever see a team come back from 13 points in 3 minutes? The Chipps were a mess, sadly. How do you just give up? We were up 13 on WMU Wednesday with ONE minute to go, and they were fighting and clawing right to the end. I'd be pissed if I were a Chipps fan.
I wish the UT/Kent game tomorrow was on TV. :(
The Ball State-Western Michigan game is the one that should have been on FOX today. Basketball fans would have been treated to a good, old-fashioned, outstanding MAC contest that wasn't decided until the last 60 seconds.
Agreed!
But Akron subsidized the broadcast, I believe. Anyone help here?
If not, they ought to wait until a week or 10 days before the game to set the best contest. Two teams going into a game with a combined 2-10 MAC record or two teams with a combined 10-2? Duh!

It was on in Chicago, although it wasn't listed. I turned it on as the players were shaking hands at the end...
I think what you saw in Chicago was the Ball State TV network. A PBS station in Merrillville carried it, and viewers can pick that up in Chicago.

Maybe so but UPN 30 out of South Bend also carried the game. So I think it was just dependent on what station wanted to carry the game. Ball State televises most of it's basketball games anyway so it's out there to be carried by other stations if they want to carry it.

Boy am I glad that it wasn't. 03-banghead
Yes, UPN in South Bend is part of the Ball State Sports Network. Incidentally, the BSSN is not televising the game at Toledo on Wednesday.
