Insiders is reporting that on of the Ikegwuonu twins has given a verbal to NIU. The other twin is going to Wisc. Anybody have any details?

I saw that too...

Didn't someone on here post the NIU was done recruiting?
I had stated that we were done. I based that on what others have said including EdgyTim and Greg Turner in his interview on Edgy's site. The Insiders headline implies that we gave the new recruit a scholy offer only this week. Maybe we had a decommit that nobody knows about.

I thought we were going after both of the twins, we do have 24 scholarships this year or so...I think we have only given out 18-20 with this recruiting class.

Also wasn't one of those twins in trouble with his grades? Maybe thats why it took so long to offer on him?
Which of the two brothers did we get?

I see where Jack (WR/CB) runs a 4.4. Is his brother as fast?
We got Bill.

Bill is listed as the same speed.
Joe has said previously, he keeps one or two scholies in his hip pocket for special situations. So, this new commit does not necessarily mean we had a decommit.
We have 21 commits (including the Missouri TE that just committed), and 23 currently to give. More scholarships could open up if something happens, but that would be a currently unexpected situation - you can't predict if someone does poorly in school or leaves the team of his own free will.

One of the twins is a better prospect than the other - good enough to be looked at heavily by Wisconsin. The twins may want to go to school together, and we may be able to offer both.

How weird would it be to have two pairs of twins on the team!!
Not only would we have two sets of twins, but all four are from Madison.

And ALL DB's!

Joe Novak and staff have assembled a good recruiting class. I especially like the emphasis on athletic types who can strengthen our defense. In my opinion next year's team will be in a bit of a rebuilding mode. My venture to guess is we will go something like 6-5 or 7-4. But the year after, look out. Assuming a smooth transition at the QB spot, we ought to be very strong in 2005.
I don't see this team dropping that much. I have us going 9-3 next year, 8-3 in the regular season, and 1-0 in a bowl, any bowl.

The better of the two is headed to Wisconsin. They decided not to go to the same school.
