Per official ACC/Maryland schedule, the game will be at 6pm eastern time on Sat Sept 4th. They will not be looking past us as they play Temple on the eleventh. Do not not know if that evening time will help or hurt in getting it televised for those of you who cannot make it.
GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talk about a revenge game. Ralph Friedgrin and his team will have their ears pinned back to give up a whopping. Hopefully we will be up to the challenge and once again play them very strong. Could once again be a defining game for our whole season.
Terps lose seven on offense and seven on defense including qb mcbrien and dt starks, so it may be interesting. It might depend on how good Friedgen has been at recruiting.
GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let's hope the guy who quarterbacked for Maryland in their Georga Tech game when McBrien was injured is the one we see when we play them. They couldn't do a thing on offense.
I could be wrong, but I believe McBrien (the starter) graduated, and Orlando Evans (the backup) was also a senior - Evans would have come in at GT, but had been suspended that week for something, so they were down to the third stringer in that game. I suspect they may have an incoming recruit or redshirt that will QB the team. Still, we could rattle a first time QB! 04-rock :chair: :chair: 03-nutkick

I'm not scared of UMD...Nor should any of our players be...I think UMD has proven that they aren't really that good when people come to play against them...Us and FSU. In all honesty they should have beat on us...ACC team, Top 25, first game of the season they had to have been chompin at the bit to get this one under way....

I think they may be more ready this season, but they really were not that impressive, or should i say, as impressive as their ACC brothers.
I beg to differ - I was very impressed by their speed and hitting, especially their D.

I wasn't impressed with the smack they and many of their fans were talking prior to and during the game. They didn't think much of us. I think many of their fans think it was a fluke - they can't admit that we did take it to them.

Impressed with their speed? Of course, there hitting? Nope. I wasn't impressed at all, even after the game our guys said they were bigger but we were shocked that they didn't hit as hard. That was Todd G. i think who said it, go to the northern star site and look up the articles that were following that game.

Compared to other ACC teams they were not that good, I think this year they can look to finish 4 or 5...Not to say they won't beat us, but they really aren't that good for an ACC team.

Interesting. One of the so-called experts picked them in the top 10 this coming year(#7 I think). Sombody will be wrong. I am thinking it is the one who is from Naperville, they are always wrong. :D

P.S. Just kidding Willy. I do somewhat agree, I don't think they are going to be a top 10 team at the end of the year but they will be near the 25 rank-give or take a few spots but I am not sure they will be as low as you predict.

Who said they would be #7 this year...After losing so many starters...???

Because that is quite an expert....
I forget but I think a link of it was on the MAC portion of these boards a month or so back if you want to find it.

It was actually #8 Here is the link:

Maryland was a far more physical team than Alabama. There were some tremendous collisions. I thought they were fantastic, and they cleaned up in the ACC, losing only at FSU and at Ga Tech (when they were unexpectedly down to their 3rd string QB in the first half). That means they beat bowl teams Clemson, Virginia, NC State, plus they throttled W. Virginia twice. I thought their D was the best we faced all year. They did wear down after a steady dose of Turner, but it really took until late in the game to be able to get significant rushing out of Michael.

Now, I remember our guys saying after the game that they thought they were just as good or at least could play with them - that's the pride talking, especially after a big emotional win. But even Joe said that he thought they looked very good on film and passed the eye test before the game.

Link and comment from Northern Star (since I'm doing Willy's research for him :D )
