Unfortunately this goes along with every other rumor. Apparently there is a whole lot of nothing going on. Kinda like I have no recognition of the event in question reporting.
I get the sense that today's modern day reporter scans internet chat rooms, message boards, etc. instead of making calls and knocking on doors for news leads.
Now the AD's of these schools are starting to Talk. Same Song & Dance with different schools, Appears this deal is almost complete.
Just what the BCS Cartel was expecting Big Fish eating the Little Fish. Number of Div 1 Football Teams Being Reduced.
Now only Two Serious Mid Major Conferences Left CUSA & MWC. BCS Cartel Provides the Last BCS bowl For Guess Who?

How many CUSA teams have played in a BCS bowl? I don't consider them a BCS member even if the signatory.

So, let me get this straight: C-USA signed a deal that leaves them out of the BCS bowls?
That's a little like an immigrant coming to this country and signing an agreement that they will never try to become a citizen!

I can't claim to be privy to the thoughts at the time, but I bet they were intendion to be "promoted" up to full status and thought it would be better if our foot was in the door. Then again, our commissioner at the time is now the SEC commissioner...was it personal posturing? (the 2nd one was sarcasm)
