Your rankings, as always, are not only balanced, they are fair.

Unless you are a Cedarvile fan, of course.
I still think Cincy is the best team in the state, but because of their recent losses I can understand dropping them below Kent. But they shouldn't be ranked below Dayton who they beat by 30 when they played.

And I'm also going to stick with my argument that Ohio State is better than most the teams on that list and should be ranked about 4th.
Stick -

Please tell me you are on the NCAA selection committee.

Buckeye -

You'll understand this from football season. When you're team is number one, hard to give a f--- whose in fourth. Go Flashes!

You're right Stu. I should base my ratings on how these teams do against each other head to head. Thanks for pointing out this obvious flaw in my ratings. Here are my revised ratings based only on record against Ohio teams.

1. Kent State 5-1
2. Cincinnati 3-1
3. Toledo 5-2
4. Dayton 2-1
5. Xavier 2-1
6. Miami 5-4
7. Wright State 3-3
8. Youngstown State 2-2
9. Akron 3-5
10. Bowling Green 1-3
11. Ohio 1-3
12. Cleveland State 0-6
And last and least...on the basis of being the only state team not possessing the onions to play another state team...

13. Ohio State 0-0

Let me get this straight Stu. Even though the collection of pu$$ies known as the Buckeyes haven't the sack to play another team from Ohio, and therefore haven't proven that they can beat ANY team on this list, you would like them to receive a token ranking of about four or so?

Priceless.

Based on what, exactly? Ohio A&M is a .500 team that has only managed three wins in conference, and OOC wins over the likes of Maryland-Baltimore County, Samford, Furman, and arguably one of the worst teams in the MAC, CMU -- by 6 points...in Columbus. Further, Sagarin has Ohio A&M rated 150, which is between Ball State and Akron.

Ohio A&M might be the #4 Ohio team in the MAC, but not the #4 team in the state of Ohio. Besides Kent, Miami, and Toledo, the Aggies are easily behind XU, Dayton, and UC.

Move us up a spot after we beat Toledo.

Steve is right -- X is better than we are.
I've seen every team on that list play either in person or on TV. Ohio State is better than Miami, Wright State, Akron, and Xavier too.
I've also seen them all, and I respectfully disagree. Ohio A&M is a completely mediocre team. But as stick says, until they dare to actually PLAY an in-state team, I guess the best we have to go on is empirical evidence...and both Sagarin and the RPI support the assertion that they are no better than #7 in the state.

Face it. The aggies may have the best pro football franchise in Ohio, but their basketball team is absolutely nothing special.

I think Miami and Toledo are very close and either one being ahead of the other is OK. Miami won by 4 at home. If they would have played in Toledo there is no doubt in my mind that Toledo would have won. Too close to tell who would have won on a neutral court. Maybe they should be tied at this point.
