For MACsters too young to remember, Central Michigan fans were once famous for streaming the court with toilet paper after the first CMU bucket.

The tradition was eventually discontinued when the NCAA banned it. Those party poopers!!

Last Saturday, despite a miserable record, Rose Arena was packed again for a celebration of 100 years of Chippewa basketball. Before the game, the event was recreated with Thunder Dan Majerle laying the ball in, precipitating a golden shower.

The MAC played some good basketball in the 80's. Ron Harper was a heck of a player too.
I remember that annoying tradition...and I wish the NCAA would have kept their nose out of it. It was, imo, a most original show of fan involvement. It just HAD to annoy the crap out the opposing team, it took time to clean up. CMU definitely had a 6th man with that little deal. I liked it.
Those were great times at CMU. I think I remember Sports Illustrated doing a big write up about the TP tradition. 04-rock
yep...and I think it even made network tv sports once.
