Could happen. Lets pray that Alum doesn't phone him to get funds for the AVC project. 03-razz Lets hope that if he does get a big payday he is generous and we can finally get the football facility off the ground. Good luck to him. 04-bow 04-rock

Good find, Robert! 04-bow

I hope he doesn't have to play in Philly, but he can't turn down a big payday and more responsibility. The Titans appeared to go back to Bennett when he returned from injury, so if I'm Justin I have to look closely at my chances of starting.

And yes, we certainly should try to hit him up for some of that!!
I doubt that he will have enough money to get the football facility off the ground. Now a combination of Tuner, Diem and McCareins might be able to do it. But who really knows if they would even be interested. I wish they could because the football facility needs to get done.
The funny thing is I happened on it by accident. I read some quotes from an "expert"(from a different board) on a Jets or NE board(can't remember which) so I checked out the Titans board and found the article. Since it was found from 2 different sources, it appears that it may have some legitamacy. I guess the Eagles will have to become one of my favorite teams because they will have 2 NIU players should this happen.

I was thinking that if he can give about $1 million or so along with the"big donor" and the 2 smaller ones we could at least get it to the "little fish" stage. That is what I meant with those remarks. I agree too that we do not know if he really WANTS to give. I am sure that he has many things that he wants should he get a big contract. Giving toward the facility is probably the farthest thing in his mind. Making sure your life is comfortable is job 1 everything else comes second.
Will Hollis Thomas stay healthy enough to still be considered an Eagle?

Let's say he signs for $3-$5 million per year. After taxes, he nets $1.8 million - $3.0 million. After agent fees, he nets $1.5 million - $2.7 million. do you really think he'll give $1 million in donations to the university? If he gave $50,000, I would consider him VERY generous. These people that donate big bucks, make a lot more money than a professional athlete does.
I was not suggesting that we hit him up for a mil. I'd also be very surprised if he'll be able to gross up to $5 mil/year, but the Eagles may be willing to pay a little more to fill a need right now.
Yeah I could see something more in the 50K range unless he signs a huge deal. I would think that he would only get about 2 million a year. I doubt he will get 3 to 5 million a year. How much is still need to get the football facility to the little guys? I was under the impression that we still need 2 to 3 million before going to the little fish.
I hope this is not true. I would hate to see him go to the Eagles

My NFL dream is to Watch Jason Gesser throw a TD to Justin McCareins.

Wazzu and NIU together on the field, since we'll never seee them actually play against each other.
Has anyone heard about Ghilani, and where he might get drafted. The more of these guys you get to the pros the better chance you'll have of getting them to give alittle back...........

It probably would help with recruiting as well.

According to this website, Ghilani, Azar & Duffy will be day 2 draft picks.

I have my doubts about Azar. Has anyone heard if Duffy healed 100%?

I think that a team that needs a PK would be foolish not to draft Azar. If he gets drafted and continues in the NFL from where he left off at NIU, he could easily be one of the best ever. I am completely sold on this kid and think he will be the most difficult to replace this year. Nendick has some pretty big shoes to fill! 09-hitit
I was going with the type of numbers mentioned on that board and others. 10 million + Signing bonus. I guess that still may be a little questionable for a million but not impossible depending on how much he appreciates NIU.
Justin is a restricted free agent (I believe), meaning that teams can sign him to an offer sheet and the Titans have the option to match the offer. If they don't, they'll get a draft pick I think. But the Eagles are talking about structuring an offer that is front-loaded with money so the Titans can't match it (they don't have cap space in the next year or two to take on significant committments next year). If that's the case, chances are that the majority of his cash will be in salary in the first couple of years, as signing bonuses are split over the length of the contract. That's a guess, but it does make sense.

Hey, I'd just like to see us have successful NFL players who can give something back, and won't be picky about how much! :D
