Now that the court proceedings are finished, how many games do you think he will be suspended by either the UT athletic office or by Joplin?

I heard this was a surprise to even some of his teammates when it hit the paper yesterday. What the hell's going on??
The Akron fans thank him for his patronage.

Yesterday's story in the paper was the first I had heard of this, certainly. As for sitting out...he did that in the 2nd half at Nevada, didn't he? :D

I'm sure Joplin will accompany him to the tire slashing rage control management meeting which will suffice for his punishment.
Yes, it wouldn't be fair to the whole team just because one player committed a crime. We have to look at what's best for everyone even if the one player has to suffer the indignity of not getting the punishment I'm sure he feels he needs. 03-lol
Guys, is this really a big deal? Just a guy getting into a fight with his girlfriend and doing something stupid. Noone was hurt. At least he wasn't charged with domestic violence like Cribbs. It takes a real lowlife to hit a woman. 03-nutkick 03-puke I really think this is pretty minor. It was stupid and illegal, but I don't think a suspension is warented considering it happened 8 months ago.
What's Cribbs got to do with this? And you must know a lot more about what he did than has been released to the press if you know he hit anyone.
Also, at Kent, when charged with a crime, a player is immediately suspended until a verdict is reached.
At Toledo, they wait until the conviction, then say no big deal. What's another crime or two? Just make sure they don't miss any playing time.

You know we were just kidding around here, but you want to start playing holier than thou, you'd better start looking in your own house first.

That's bulls#!t. I don't condone the Cribbs bashing, but that comment is equally ignorant.
I don't understand how a player can have tire slashing charges pending for 8 mos., then plead guilty, and it's no big deal. No penalty. What's BS about questioning that?
You might also find some of his teammates are asking the same question.
Sorry, but for me domestic violence is about as low as it gets, along with murder, rape, and child molestation. I'm not saying that I know the inside story, but he must have physically assaulted the girl in order for their to be a charge.

Maybe Trip does deserve a suspension, I don't know. I just think getting into a fight or drunk driving is a lot more serious than minor vandalism. Especially if the victim wanted to drop the charge. I supported suspensions for Hefflin and Dodrick because their actions put other people at risk. As long as Trip has the courtesy to pay for a new set of tires, I just don't see this as such a huge deal.

For those keeping score at home: That was 2 pts from the top of the key
OK, nuff said.
I agree about the more serious crimes, but it's also important to note we don't really know what went down at Cribbs apt. We do know he called the police in on the domestic dispute thing. My hunch is there that charge will disappear. The pot charge is a great unknown.
The Tiplett thing is relatively minor--girl friend seeing another guy thing, he gets mad. What I think you'll see in the next few months is that the way it was handled internally is symptomatic of deeper problems on the team. Call it an educated guess.

03-lol Riiiiiiiight. Since a kent fan knows all about the inner workings of the Toledo basketball program.
