Not sure. Someone at AZZ.com says Buffalo was up by 18 with five minutes left.
Toledo at the line, down by two, with maybe 20 seconds left. Missed the first :)

Game Over

Buffalo 82
Kent 66

FINAL:

Eastern Michigan 75 04-bow 04-rock
Ohio University 64

EMU gets to .500 on season at 12-12.
Congrats Buffalo, but this sure messes up the MAC's shot at two at large bids! 03-banghead
Congratulations to Buffalo. Didn't catch the game, but it sounds like they put the wood to us. I was afraid of this game, and for good reason. But, nice job, Bulls. 04-bow 04-bow
Congrats to UB. I too was afraid of this game. UB has turned the corner. It sounded like Big John left his brain at home. He was not the only one. Now let's suck it up and lose NO MORE.
Ouch, this really hurts Kent's at large bid chances. Congrats to the Bulls though.

Dave,
Right there with ya! BG now 13-13, 8-7 MAC.

A little bit. I think KSU can afford this loss, just like WMU was able to absorb the Marshall loss (although our loss was much tighter). I think if KSU wins out the remainder of the regular season, then makes it to the tourney finals, they still have a shot.

Congrats to UB! I don't really want to meet them in Cleveland.

In other news, no letdown at WMU, as the Broncos routed CMU 86-55. 04-rock
What kind of crowd did they have at Buffalo tonight?
This was a bad day at Black Rock for Kent. First they lose their football coach and then their basketball team loses its 10-game winning streak. Some days are just like that. But the sun will rise again in the morning. The MAC tournament promises to be the most wide open in years. Every team in the conference is vulnerable. I think any one of about 7 teams could conceivably win it.

6100 total, 2700 of that students. Alumni Arena was packed and the energy was amazing. If anyone wants to see pics from the game, here's a link for you: Linky
Good crowd for the Bulls. You apparently did a good job promoting this game. Congratulations, for both the crowd and the win. Was this the largest crowd Buffalo has ever had for a MAC game? What is the seating capacity there?

I think they can get up to 13,000 in there for a special event by rolling out extra bleachers (they hosted North Carolina once). Normally, you are talking about 9,000 capacity I think.
With all the bleachers out the arena seats about 8,500. The way it was configured last night, the 6100+ was just about capacity. Next year, after the renovation, the total seating will drop to 6,500 (many with chairbacks, instead of bleachers).

I think the UNC game was about 8,000, but last night might be a MAC record attendance, certainly a record in energy for a MAC game.
