Great academic institution they are trying to run down in the hills! This idiot claims respectability for Bowling Green College so I am guessing he is either a student or a graduate of the college...but the education wasn't good enough to teach him to count to 100? What a moron!
R7, let's not get into name calling. I definitely respect OU as an academic institution. I just don't respect KC's opinions! :D I will even give BG props for their performing arts and education programs. The funny thing about BG and UT is that while we each like to say our school is better, we don't really have any academic programs that compete with each other. Our strong programs are in pharmacy, engineering, and law, and BG doesn't offer any of these programs. Also, we have the advantage in the natural sciences. Research funding and number of patents aren't even close. Likewise BG is strong in the arts and humanities while we are not.

The only programs that really compete for students are the business and education programs. I would give BG the edge in education. I don't know much about BG's business school. However, one area where we have an advatage is that we have a good entrepreneurship program, and they do not offer such a program. Also, we have a much higher CPA pass rate.
Wow, this thread has a helluva lot to do with the respective attributes that Toledo or Miami can bring to the table.
No, but the most poignant point above is that BUGS girls are easy.

That is true.

They may be ugly, but no one can deny that they will suck the chrome off a trailer hitch! 04-rock 03-razz

You may have gone bad somewhere along the way, but you can tell that your Grandfather tried very hard to raise you right. 03-lol
By the way the business school at UT. is only one of three schools in ohio to be one of the three hundred best business schools in the world. Miami, Ohio State, and TOLEDO is the only in ohio on that list!
The pharm. school only accepts like ten% of students trying to get in, are pre med. you have to have atleast a 3.5-3.7 to even think about getting into the program. And if bugs is so much of a party school why do I SEE at least fifty bugs students in Toledo every weekend in Toledo at parties or at the mall or just hanging out in a real town like Toledo. If you want to get bgSTDS go to BG if you want to be a winner go to The University Of Toledo it is that easy.
I'd just like to point out for the record that I never said one cross word about Toledo in this thread.
Eagle in the gym Wrote:Rocketfootball, both are very fine institutions with good football teams.  But in most minds uneducated in MAC football, like myself, it is hard to tell what makes one stand out.  I could say that both Southern Miss and Tulane have fine football teams in C-USA, and they do.  But there are things that make one school more attractive than the other.  I am not a commish and I will have zero say-so in future conference considerations.  I am just wanting to know what makes these two schools special.  If you cannot think of enough reasons to write about, then that simply tells me volumes about Toledo.  Miami (that Miami) is getting all the national attention.  I figured a discussion like this would actually give Rocket fans ability to speak up and show they are equal or surpass the others.  Feel free to ignore if that is your wish.  Other MAC school fans, feel free to include your school.  I am not leaving you out.  Educate a Mississippi man on the positives of the MAC and her schools.
Miami got attention last year, but MAC FB for most of recent history has been dominated by Marshall and Toledo. Average attendance/game for the last six years: Toledo = 25,003 ; Miami = 17,794 ; BG = 14,638

People are accusing me of hating Toledo. I'm not sure that's exactly the right word.

But hate -- or whatever -- isn't why I would prefer Miami if I were in the shoes of the Conference USA commissioner. Some of it is just a matter of personal taste.

Of course, it appears all academic. From what people I trust here in this forum are saying, it sounds like neither Miami nor Toledo would say yes.
First of all OU has the most beautiful campus in the MAC.UT has probably one one of the nicest urban campuses of anywhere in the country. Miami has a very nice campus.BG is in a cornfield that lies between two roads that lead to Toledo.BG has been known for their Education and Arts programs thats why they turnout so many artists and figure skaters.UT's Pharmacy,Engineering, and Business Schools are very good. Miami has a good Business School , Arts and Science Programs. The Redhawks probably have the best looking women in the MAC.They are the Cradle of Coaches.UT had the greatest football team in MAC history and probably the greatest team America never saw. 35-0,UT was undefeated for three seasons.Three straight wins in the Tangerine Bowl.It was a team that had no weaknesses. The MAC has never seen anything like it since. For partying UT definitely.Although there aren't too many parties like Halloween at OU.UT fans will travel to watch their team.We are great for pregame parties and have been known to share our Tony Packo's and beverages with even a Falcon fan. We definitely will checkout any danceteams or female cheerleaders of our opponents. We like to win!Especially at Minnesota and Kansas!!!

Yeeeeehawwwww another thread that went all over the place and STILL hasn't landed back on topic. C-USA could take Owens Community College(which is a pretty good team) in basketball for all I care. These threads are starting to get tiresome. We are not the commissioners of these conferences so lets stop trying to pretend that we are. Toledo and Miami or any MAC team for that matter, is not going to leave to go to C-USA, because with the teams leaving , they don't have anything to offer as of right now. Let me repeat "AS OF RIGHT NOW". Maybe later on down the line that might change, but as of right now, its not gonna happen.
