Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green's eighth game in 15 days has been cancelled due to poor weather and field conditions. Wednesday's contest against Tiffin University at Warren Steller Field has been cancelled.

BGSU (11-4 overall and 2-1 in the Mid-American Conference) has had eight games in the past 15 days cancelled while nine games overall have been effected by rain.

The Falcons will attempt to play a three-game league series this weekend (April 2-4) when it travels to Mt. Pleasant, Mich. to play Central Michigan University. Friday's game is scheduled for 3 p.m. while Saturday's and Sunday's contests are 1 p.m. starts.

Eastern has played 4 games at Oestrike Stadium since the cancelled series with BGSU. The weather hasn't been great, usually in the high 40s and threatening rain, but the field has always been in good condition. Are there problems with the maintenance of the ball field at BG or has the weather been more of a problem there than it has in Ypsilanti?

EMU beat Oakland 6-2 yesterday to even its season record at 10-10 (3-0 in the MAC). It was their 6th win in a row.

Good luck against the Chips this weekend.
If I remember from FB season, BG needs to spend more $ on their fields.

I doubt the weather is much different from Ypsi to BG. ;-)
Man, that sucks.
Along these lines, today's Miami-Marshall game in Huntington was cancelled because of wet field conditions. The Saturday game may also not be played tomorrow because they can't play on Marshall's field, and the teams' efforts to find a neutral site have so far proved fruitless. According to MURedHawks.com, the teams are in the process of finding a neutral site so they can at least get in a double header on Sunday.

Incidentally, I believe that Miami has played all of its scheduled home games, and in fact, we have hosted a game against Xavier that was originally supposed to be played at their home field.. Our southern location in the conference certainly helps for baseball. However, I think part of this has to do with how well Miami re-constructed McKie field a couple years ago.
Things just got a little grimmer for BUGS fans:

CMU 12, Bowling Green 2

You need to keep your fantasies in check, bird brain. What you do in the privacy of your own mind is your own business, no need to make it our's.
The only reason the Tuesday and Wednesday games were canceled this week, is that it was RAINING!!!!! The tarp was on and the field was dry. Our field is actually in great shape, and there have been some significant improvements to it this year.
If I was from Toledo, I would even mention baseball facility, with that $hithole you play in!!!!!! Toledo and Marshall do have something in common!
Hey Dexter Eagle and emu Steve-
The games on 3/20 and 3/21 were moved to BG in the hope they could play because YOUR field was unplayable!!! We didn't get them in because of rain, but it wasn't because of the field. The one game we missed on our field last Friday against BSU was made up on Saturday. We had a game rained out AT MSU and one AT Detroit, and last Wednesday, because it was RAINING!

Eastern has hosted 3 games in the last two weeks that were originally scheduled as road games against Detroit and Oakland. The UD game was moved because their field was unplayable. Today's game against OU was moved to Oestrike Stadium but I don't know if it was moved because of field conditions in Rochester or the fact that Oestrike has lights. A double header was scheduled to replace tomorrow's game in Rochester and it will probably finish under the lights. It's supposed to snow tonight in SE Michigan. :cuss:

My question in the original post was:

"Are there problems with the maintenance of the ball field at BG or has the weather been more of a problem there than it has in Ypsilanti?"

Thank you for your informative but overwrought reply. Now take your medication and get some rest 05-nono .
UCF ran over JU today twice in a double header, to improve to 26-5. We have our ace on the hill tomorow so we'll most likely sweep this conference series.

I'd expect UCF to crack the top 20 next week.

What the heck is JU? Junior University?

Jacksonville University.

Was that a rip or an honest question?

Honest, actually in a sarcastic way. My knowledge of southern universitys are weak at best, especially when it comes to baseball, the closest i could think of was Jackson University, which im not sure really exists.
