You guys like to give the Rocket fans grief over some of the things that have happened in our program, well what goes around comes around.

First we already know about the players charged in that fight and we know you guys say it was self defense. Well now BG is looking to hire an assistant coach from Colorado. You know, that renegade program from the Big 12? And get this......the guy BG wants to hire from Colorado is currently suspended by Colorado for his part in their renegade program.

Nice umm....hire guys! :bluethumb:

I don't think it's a big deal . You don't know what he waqs suspended for, so to characterize it as being based on his part in a "renegade program" is specious. Colorado is simply saying he was placed on paid leave for violating a University policy.

You should worry more about his recruiting connections in Michigan 03-razz

Assuming we're actually going to hire him in the first place.
"I don't think it's a big deal"
If the Rockets was looking to hire him you would have ran your post count up to 800 already.
Whine, whine whine...the Rockettes love to whine. If it isn't the mean ol' Blade it's those
pesky Falcon fans.

Do they make diapers big enough for coach Numnutz? :D
Moved this post over to the smack board as I thought it was more appropriate over there after posting it.
In the spirit of Christmas...or Easter...I've done the same.
Thank you, I know that some people don't like reading my smack.

Toledo has had one or two incidents per year over the last couple of seasons. BG fans have gleefully made comparisons to Marshall. Time to take your medicine, birdbrains.

As I have stated repeatedly, kids will get into trouble, it is what they do. How they are dealt with is the real issue. Some schools have a pretty much zero tolerance policy (Miami, Kent). Other schools deal with the issue as quietly as possible on a case-by-case basis to try and help the kid when they can (Toledo, BG). Then there are the renegade programs that cover up and ignore the problems in their quest for an extra W or two. Fans of the first two types of schools should really be careful when trying to paint each other as the third type. 05-nono

That said, depending on why this coach got into trouble, particularly considering where he comes from, I would be concerned if I were a BG fan. Thankfully, I'm not.

We'll see what the University of Colorado has to say when they conclude their internal investigation. Until then, I'm not the least bit concerned about this hire.

I think it's a little suspicious that he is suspended from Colorado.

Don't complain about UT fans making jokes about this move guys. We are only doing what you did to us when we had a couple of kids get in trouble with the law in the last couple of years. What goes around comes around. If you dish it out you better be able to take it back!

Why? Out of 23 recruits this February, only 5 were from Michigan.
Look.... all the smack talk aside, I don't think you guys have a systemic problem necessarily. There's a lot to be said for giving kids a chance after they screw up, I'd do it too. There needs to be some type of internal line that you can't cross though. It's great that Heflin didn't screw up again. From my perspective, I'm not sure he'd have gotten a second chance though. I don't feel that Brock Dodrill should be back either. I guess it comes down to where you put that internal line.

If Amstutz can be a little more liberal with that line and in the end the kid comes around, that's great. He's right and I'm wrong....

:)
I don't expect Dodrill to be back and I don't think Amstutz has any intentions of bringing him back. Matter of fact, I believe he has dropped out of school recently.
I hope Dodrill can get things tgether and complete his education down the line.

I think the OL that punched next door urinator should probably get a second chance. The circumstances around that incident were pretty odd and I don't find it too unbelievabe to think that he thought the urinator was getting physical with him.

Unless of course the whole thing was a ruse and he knew that another partygoer was going to push the urinator into him. I've seen gangs of young toughs try that one before. That would fall more along the lines of premeditated assault. Not sure I'd wa kid like that around...
