You drink Diet Faygo?

And all this time I assumed you were heterosexual.
It was FAYgo, not the other way around.
The rock n rye had a refreshing cream cola flavor, I must admit.
It was just one bottle.
My wife made me drink it.
I also had a taste of the diet faygo key lime pie.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
I'm back on the diet coke now as my a.m beverage of choice.
BTW, I drive a lesbaru outback wagon.
Herd Green.

It's a fine Detroit product. Much like this stuff:

Vernors I like.
From the initial story last week, I thought the guy was suspended b/c he was considering another job. This article hints that he was suspended for other reasons, perhaps relating to the rape allegations going on at UC.

Any details on the suspension, or is this more yellow journalism?
Why would someone get suspended because they were looking for another job? Seems to me that is discrimination and could easily be fought and won in a court of law.

Are you kidding? This happens all the time. If you're known to be looking for another job, it's likely you'll be escorted to clear out your desk.

Most people are employed "at will" (I think I got that term right.) Meaning they can be let go at the employer's discretion. If you're looking for another job, the employer has every expectation that you are no longer loyal to him, or at the very least, not giving '100%' and must protect his interests.

Particularly if you're going to a competitor. Why should UC have an asst see more of the playbook and spring conditioning/drills, if he's going to leave?

There is an "employed at will" thing, but it really doesn't matter if someone takes them to court. I have seen this happen before. All the fired employee has to do is show some sort of discrimination and the employer will normally settle out of court.

I don't buy the idea that this guy was suspended because he looked for another job. I would also love to see an employer fire me because I applied for another job and use that as the excuse. That would not stand up in court.

Coaches look for other jobs all the time - that's no reason to be placed on paid administrative leave. Sorry, it don't fly here, especially when his direct superior has also been put on paid administrative leave for other reasons.

BTW - assistant coaches are generally on one year contracts so termination is usually not a painfully expensive way for a school to turn over their coaching staffs.

I'm asking as to why he was suspended. I honestly don't know. My first impression was that it was because he was entertaining another offer.
That doesn't seem to be the case.

Honestly, I doubt if "discrimination" would stick if you were looking for another job. What are they "discriminating" against?

Maybe the legal beagles can chime in here.
Vernors is great, there's no other ginger ale quite like it.

Re coach Joseph, let's keep a couple of things in mind. Gary Barnett has been placed on adminstrative leave because of the many controversies surrounding the Colorado program. That is a publically stated fact from the University. Vance Joseph was placed on paid administrative leave for an unspecified reason(s). The two aren't necessarily related. I suppose we'll know when Colorado completes it's investigation.

Both coach Brandon and our QB coach Mick McCall have worked with Coach Joseph in the past. Gregg Brandon and AD Paul Krebs have both stated that they sufficiently vetted all candidiates for the positon and were happy with their choice. I don't think either would endorse hiring an assisstant who had a major role in the debacle that Colorado appears to have been.

In short, I am comfortable with this hire and welcome coach Joseph to BG :)
