My involvement with sports has led me to this conclusion, among others.
True respect for an athletic program or a conference (whether it be Marshall or Bowling Green, the MAC or C-USA) breeds respect for the merits of other programs and conferences. Those who know realize what it takes to succeed.
This means that those who have no respect for the merits of others also have no TRUE respect for those they align themselves with.
Having true respect and being a true fan go hand in hand with one another.
