KENT, Ohio — The Kent State University women’s golf team will travel to Normal, Ill., for the NCAA Central Regional, May 6-8, at University Golf Course the NCAA announced today. Kent State is one of 21 teams in the regional, with the top eight teams and two individuals advancing to the NCAA Championship May 18-21 in Auburn, Ala.

The Golden Flashes are the 15th seed in the 21-team field. The Central Regional consists of, in seeding order, Vanderbilt, New Mexico, Arizona, Southern California, Oklahoma, Michigan State, Tulsa, Missouri, TCU, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Kansas State, Indiana, SMU, Kent State, Purdue, Northwestern, Baylor, Notre Dame, Princeton and Illinois State.

Junior Gabby Wedding (Wilmington, Ohio/Wilmington) earned MAC Medalist honors and was named the MAC Golfer of the Year, while sophomore Becky Wood (Glossop, England/Glossopdale) and senior Martina Gillen (Dublin, Ireland/Maryfield College) joined Wedding on the All-MAC First Team.
