Thanks TJ! Although my birthday was yesterday I do appreciate the thought.
My wife says she bought me a present but she hid it somewhere in the house and now she can't find it. And I'm supposed to be the old forgetful person.

There wasn't any tailgating when I was in school. Lot #10 was the practice field and there weren't any lots around the stadium that I remember. Carter Hall hadn't been built yet and there was no access road from Westwood. The Douglas Rd extension wouldn't happen until the late 70's and Westwood was the only north/south road linking Bancroft and Dorr.
The games started at 8:00pm and Daylight Savings Time was in limbo at the time so you walked to the Glass Bowl in the dark.
Damn, I am old!!

You could actually walk from your car to U Hall in about 30 seconds. Savage Hall sits on what WAS a gravel parking lot. Legal drinking age was 18...not 21.
I'm gettin' old too, Fred :D

The drinking age was 18 in Ohio for 3.2 beer and 21 for real beer and everything else (I think all the beer was really 3.2% back then it just had a differnet color bottle cap).
In Michigan the drinking age was 21 so the kids from north of Toledo came down to the Faba to party and to eat burgers at the White Hut on Sylvania and Laskey Roads.
Happy Birthday Fred.

If you lived anywhere close to Lagranka as I did, the drinking age was about 14, and I got just as goofy on 3.2 beer as I did on that high stuff.
Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. Now let's get ready for some football!!
