In today's mail I got my receipts for donations to the Rocket Fund and Glass Bowl Renovation Fund. In another envelope, I got a nice note from Dave Nottke acknowledging receipt of those donations. It reminded me to remind YOU...UT needs and appreciates your support in keeping our programs top-notch. If you haven't joined the Rocket Fund yet, or haven't decided what level you'd like to be at, now's as good a time as any to give it some thought. the 100 is almost worth the gameday parking perks xD
Heck yeah....and check the funding levels for other benefits too, like parking for basketball games, admission to the Grogan Room, etc. Not to mention you get that warm fuzzy feeling for doing good :D
On top of your normal gift to the Rocket fund I've been thinking that we should start a special "Sound System Fund" where people can give to pay for a new sound system at the Glass Bowl. Of course this would have to be outside of your normal gift to the Rocket fund. What do you think Karl? Would Dave be interested enough in this idea to take it to the appropriate people to get setup?
My thinking is that people could donate whatever they could, even if it is just a couple of bucks, and over time we would have enough money in it to improve the sound system. Believe me, our sound system needs a drastic overhaul.
Rocket Football - I like that idea -- a series of small projects that, over time, really add up. Kind of like the old saying goes "eat the elephant one bite at a time". The Nike Ajax rocket on the north end of the Glass Bowl needs to be sandblasted and repainted too, it is looking pretty sad right now. Another relatively low cost project that could be accomplished via donations. I'm willing to participate/contribute.

I'd be willing to bet that ANY contribution for WHATEVER purpose would be welcomed. I LOVE the idea of a sound system fund...the one we have now sounds like a couple tin cans with a string between them. Give him a call and see what he thinks!
