Can't wait for the season to begin.
Also, expect a few more MAC vs. non-conference opponent games to be added to ESPN Game Plan at a later date.

Teaser Data - MAC NOTES:

- A total of 18 non-conference teams that appear on MAC schedules this fall participated in a bowl game in 2003.
- The MAC will play the Big Ten 11 times this year with nine different conference schools facing off against ten of the 11 Big Ten programs (only Northwestern is not on a MAC schedule this year).
- All three of Ball State’s non-conference opponents this fall played in a bowl game in 2003 (Boston College, Purdue & Missouri).
- Three MAC teams will be facing two bowl teams from last year; Marshall (Ohio State & Georgia), UCF (Wisconsin & West Virginia) & Toledo (Minnesota & Kansas).
- Buffalo will be hosting Syracuse this September and is expecting their largest crowd in their stadium history.
- In 2003 the MAC captured at least one victory against every BCS conference they faced including three victories over Big Ten teams and two victories over Big 12 teams.
***The MAC’s winning streak against Conference USA teams has been extended to nine consecutive games.***
- Marshall’s Bob Pruett has 73 MAC victories, tied with Gary Pinkel for 4th place all-time.
- Miami’s Ben Roethlisberger leaves his college football days as the MAC’s #3 all-time passer. Akron’s Charlie Frye needs just 3,479 yards to become the MAC’s all-time leading passer (317 per game average for 2004).
- Marshall led the MAC in total passing yards from 1999-2002 but in 2003 they led the MAC in rushing yardage ending Ohio’s seven year reign on that stat.
- Ball State has added permanent lights to their stadium will play host this year to Boston College.
- Miami enters this season with the longest current winning streak in the nation at 13.

Yeah, I guess I'll have to wait until the next thread. :(

Not sure what your quality standards are, but I'll do the best I can.

Quote:- The MAC will play the Big Ten 11 times this year with nine different conference schools facing off against ten of the 11 Big Ten programs (only Northwestern is not on a MAC schedule this year).

I'm sure that has nothing to do with Northwestern's current 3 game losing streak against MAC teams.

Quote:- All three of Ball State’s non-conference opponents this fall played in a bowl game in 2003 (Boston College, Purdue & Missouri).

Ouch. Ouch. Ouch.

Quote:- Three MAC teams will be facing two bowl teams from last year; Marshall (Ohio State & Georgia), UCF (Wisconsin & West Virginia) & Toledo (Minnesota & Kansas).

Toledo has a very good chance of winning both of theirs. Is their schedule enough to have them flirting with the BCS if they go undefeated? Probably not, but if Minnesota could make a run at the Big 10 title, then maybe.

Quote:- Buffalo will be hosting Syracuse this September and is expecting their largest crowd in their stadium history.

Will Buffalo give their largest crowd ever a reason to stay past halftime?

Quote:- In 2003 the MAC captured at least one victory against every BCS conference they faced including three victories over Big Ten teams and two victories over Big 12 teams.

I was there at one of them! 04-rock

Quote:***The MAC’s winning streak against Conference USA teams has been extended to nine consecutive games.***

Any C-USA teams on the schedules this year? I know Miami and Cincinnati play, but are there any others?

Quote:- Marshall’s Bob Pruett has 73 MAC victories, tied with Gary Pinkel for 4th place all-time.

He can only get 9 more. What place would that get him?

Quote:Akron’s Charlie Frye needs just 3,479 yards to become the MAC’s all-time leading passer (317 per game average for 2004).

Barring injury, he'll get it.

Quote:- Ball State has added permanent lights to their stadium will play host this year to Boston College.

Night games should help their attendance. How many home night games will they have?
Nick - NIU actually had their three largest crowds in their history last year, beginning with Maryland, then Iowa State, then setting the record w/Homecoming vs. WMU.

I never realized what our bowl winning percentage was. You'd think with number like that, bigger confences would not want to send their 7th best program against us.

I think, really think that this will be Kent's year to breakout. Most of the confrence has had a year to be proud of recently. It's our turn now.
GO FLASHES!!!

And we also play at Miami and host BG. That is 3 road games and 1 home game against teams that played in bowl games last year, including MAC games, equaling 4 total.

You've been hanging out with Cribbs a little too much.

And don't forget travelling to DeKalb to play a team that should have been in a bowl. 03-banghead
Dude--

That is just SUCH a painful reminder of how much we sucked last year.
If anything, O'Leary (hope hope) can only take us up.

He's a great coach, but he doesn't have much to work with.

Oh well--train hard and hope for the best.

I won't go so far as to say that this will be a breakout year, but watch out for the Flashes. They will be more dangerous than many people expect, with or without Cribbs. Coach Martin has a passion for this job (unlike his predecessor in the last few years) and he is changing the attitude around KSU football. He proved it with the offense last year and now the entire team is buying in. We are hearing and seeing good things around this program now that Coach M. is in place.

GO FLASHES 2004!

What's a reminder? I didn't see any "notes" being too negative.

Besides, I don't remember football season last year 03-razz

I remember basketball, and now baseball....but football? Isn't ringing a bell!

Hopefully we'll re-affirm everyone's fears that he shouldn't have been given a contract extension, and beat Penn State next year.
