Tuesday through Friday.
I believe there is a cut after Thursday's round.
UT went off first on the back nine this a.m. Kent about an hour later on the front nine. KSU currently 8th, Toledo 11th, but it is very early with many teams not teeing off until this afternoon.
Side bets? 03-wink
Toledo has started very badly. We are at +9, with only USC worse than us of the teams that have already teed off. Kent is a little better at +7. The leaders are at +1.
The first round problems continue for Toledo and Kent. The leaders are -1 right now. Toledo finished at +14 today, currently tied for 22nd place. Kent is at +15 with a couple of holes to go, tied for 24th place. There are 30 schools in the tournament.

We need to get it together tomorrow in order to have a good showing.
Both teams finished tied at +14. Not dead, but not good. They should rise a bit as the afternoon groups come in--should rise to about 20th place out of 30. The key is that they are 10 shots out of 10th. A top 10 finish would be a successful tourney. Neither team is deep enough to run at the title.
Kent's ace sophomore Ryan Yip had a nightmare beginning: double bogied #1 and bogied #'s 3 & 4 to go +4 after 4. Then he got it into gear and played the next 15 in -3 to finish at +1. Both teams need their stars (Heaven and Yip) to step it up and carry the load tomorrow.
They get the afternoon tee times on Wed.
Kent tied for 19th and Toledo alone in 25th after 2 rounds 03-banghead
Not an impossible task today to make the cut for the final round, but tough. If the Flashes match Wednesday's round (+8), they should make it. UT's job much tougher because they have to jump over 6 more teams.
Only the top 15 teams advance to the final round on Friday.

Flash sophomore Ryan Yip sitting in 19th place at 1 over.

Brad Heaven is not having the end to his collegiate career he would have wanted: 6 over and tied for 50th place. I hope he busts out with a sub-par round today.

Getting one or two MAC teams in the final 15 would be another feather in the cap. Though Miami grads are the only ones I've ever seen actually wearing feathers in their caps. Why didn't someone tell them it was a metaphor? 03-wink

I guess you don't see that many UVa grads out in the Homeland, eh?

And I'm grateful for the small blessings...
:D

The Flashes have jumped up to 9th place early in round 3. About a third of the teams are finished, Flashes just on the course, UT about to get going.
Toledo and Kent are currently tied for 12th at +25. Did anyone notice that TCU was +24 on the day today! That puts them out of contention at +37 for the tournament.
Right now score to par is what is important. Toledo is @ +27 and Kent is +28. UT is on holes 4-6 and KSU 8-10. It looks like +30 will be the cut line and that may involve a playoff. Still a chance it could be lower, but I doubt it.

Ed.: As I typed this the Rockets dropped a couple of shots to go to +29 and a 3-way tie for the 15-18 slots. Need to stop the bleeding now.
Looks like it is just about over for the two MAC teams. Both would need to come down the stretch on the back-nine under par. The Flashes did a crash-and-burn on a three hole stretch to start the back and are now 5 shots from the cut. UT is 1 over the cut and has most of the back yet to play.
:(
Toledo is at +32 about half way through. Kent is at +34 and it doesn't look good for them.

Toledo is 3 shots behind the #15 spot with half the day left. They need to pick it up or the season will be over a day early.
They need to be at +29 over par to get in a playoff for the last spot.

The last spot is now +30....two schools at that score are still on the course. Problem is that Toledo is now +35. Looks like it is almost over. Kent is +37 now.
#24 Kent State University +41
#25 University of Toledo +44

Brad Heaven and Richard Kilpatrick led UT at +9.
Ryan Yip and Peter Laws led the Flashes at +7.

Oh well. Disappointing, but having 2 MAC teams in the final top 25 is
"representin'"!

Yeah, two in the Top 25 is pretty good but I just feel that both schools did not play up to their potential in this tournament.
Congrats!!

But you guys didn't really think you'd win a national title in golf with a guy named "Yip" on your team, did you? 03-wink
 Toledo finished 14th last year. The goal was to finish a little better this year, maybe even in the Top 10.
