If so, it'll be about damn time! 04-rock
It's quite understandable why MAC officials (and loyal members) would be less than thrilled (to put it mildly) about Marshall possibly hosting this game...........the problem is that Miami (or even someone else) might win the MAC East, and in that case I would think we'd like to host after going up to BG to play last year.

I guess I'm still kind of surprised that the league is having Miami play in H-Ton this year during the regular season....again, the league owes the two "turncoats" nothing other than to follow league by-laws as the league deems fair. No easy answers.
I understand what Miami fans are thinking here with wanting to host the MACC, afterall I had to watch Toledo travel to Huntington 3 times for a MACC game. However, IMO a neutral field is best in the short term and in the long term. If we can get this done then we must act upon it now.

The schedule lacked any creativity.

I would have sent Marshall to UCF as early as possible. And I would have sent UCF to Buffalo and NIU as late as possible, and in consecutive weeks if at all possible.

Switching who's at home and away can get tricky. You can't just switch the location of the Miami game...something else has to follow...and there will probably be complaints. But, some team is probably accomodating.

I agree. And I think the time is about now for a neutral site for the MACC. I know last year was the first in which the MAC had title sponsors for the MACC. We're taking steps, and I know the MAC administration loves to stay on the conservative side, but Its just to much of a potential success to pass up.

A game in Canton, OH would do well. Its a huge football area, loaded with talented High Schools that are heavily recruited by the MAC. If this event is promoted year round it should have no trouble selling out. Play the game always on a Monday if need be to avoid conflict with High School playoffs.

I've always said that the only way I'm going to travel to a MAC Championship not featuring my Bobcats is if its at a Neutral site. A lot of MAC fans from other schools would turn out for a game in Canton.

A MACC at Canton could draw 25,000 regardless of the matchup.
I've already purchased my tickets for the MAC Championship game in Huntington on December 2.

I'm really looking forward to it! 04-rock

Maybe they can show it on your scoreboard video screen.
It doesn't matter. Chryst will pay the refs what ever he has to to insure Marshall loses the game if they even get there.
Riiiiiiight.

Nothing like a little groudless off-season conspiracy theory to help you get your excuses lined up in advance.

You've been reading the Powers Report too much.

This coming from a fan of team that talked of bugged lockerrooms, etc......

Bwahahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!

Chryst will do what he has to, to stick it to Marshall. Bank on it.

I hope so.

But you better get used to it...that's how CUSA has operated from the beginning.
Well, although conceptually I like a neutral MACC, most Miami students do not have cars and we've obviously have a great crowd if we were to host the game in Oxford.

I realize that the conference needs to do what's best for the remaining members as a whole..........I do find it pretty laughable that some Herd fans (on their site) think the MAC to be "bush league" for considering a neutral site this year. As if Marshall will feel gratitude toward the conference if they stick with the MAC East hosting the MACC this year........don't think so! No, Marshall has "made its bed" (w/ C-USA) , and the conference should do all in its power to promote the fortunes of the loyal members........it's just practical and good common sense.

Y'all are being treated better than any member exiting a Division I conference in recent memory, and Rick Chryst's level of even-handed professionalism by far surpasses anything in Huntington. But you'll still ***** all season long. Bank on it.

BTW, your conspiracy theory isn't even internally consistent. If Chryst wishes to "pay referees," he should do so for the September 29th game @ Huntington so y'all don't even get the TV appearance later on. C'mon! You can do better. Even people in tinfoil hats keep their logic straightened out better than that.

And, point further: If the MAC really had wished to stick it to Marshall, the remaining 12 members of the league would have voted to expel the Herd from the MAC effective as of June 2004 pursuant to Article IV.F of the MAC constitution while still charging the full exit fee. (That issue was briefed over the winter.)

More than half of current Miami students come from families making 100,000+. They've got cars these days, its time to get with it. Let the Senior guys give the freshman girls a lift.

As I was skimming along from bottom to top, trying to find the last message I read, I saw this and thought it was from Kit Cat.

I thought, "Wow, KC really nailed this one!" But, then I saw it was from DG...figures.

There's a reason they didn't.

Marshall sells tickets. Nobody in the MAC wants to give up home games with Marshall (football or basketball) any earlier than they have to.

Based on my sources, that statement is, to say the least, overbroad.

FWIW, Marshall was Miami's third-best crowd (out of five home games) last year. Where I come from, we call that average.

Will he bug the locker rooms, too?
