Saturday morning cartoon schedule (in the 80s)

Some of my favorites:

Hated:
The Real Ghostbusters (the weekday afternoon version too)
Gary Coleman
Mr T
Laverne and Shirley
Gilligans Planet
Fonz (just about all of the TV show tie-in 'toons)
Pac Man
Monchichis (hated those little monkey freaks)
Also, I think Mr Knozit and other local programming ("Awareness" like stuff) preempted some of those 'toons (Blackstar, for one) because I remember seeing the toys and the commercials for them, but never being able to watch the 'toons. :(
I had forgotten some like "Plastic Man" and "Pac Man"
What is strange is I can remember the old living room (moved out of that house looooonnnnnggg time ago) where I watched all those cartoons before I went out with my brother to play football outside.
Cartoons were good for that "transition" time while you munched on your CrunchBerries/CinnamonToastCrunch/PeanutButterCrunch/FrootLoops trying to wake up and prepare for a day of playing outside.
God forbid that the father figure yelled for you to do some chores though. :mad:

Peanut Butter Crunch was the best accompaniment for Saturday Morning Cartoons. But, in those times when I wanted something fruitier, I'd opt for the Crunch Berry or Froot Loops.
Ha! Yeah, those really show you how much kids have changed.
You have to go back to around 1970-76 for me........that was my kid/cartoon era. For a Marvel kid like me, the pickins were slim. All they had on then was DC's "Superfriends" which I didn't care for. I did love the old Warner Bros. stuff (Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, etc.). I always liked the Jay Ward stuff (Bullwinkle, Fractured Fairy Tales) and the Leonardo Productions stuff (Underdog, Tennessee Tuxedo, The World of Commander McBragg, etc.). Funny stuff.
I remember that Fantastic Four cartoon, because they replaced The Human Torch with Herbie the Robot. Ugh! The one cartoon I continued to watch during this period you got here (my high school and college years) was "Thundarr the Barbarian."

I STILL eat Peanut Butter Crunch on an occasion. In fact, now that you've reminded me, I'll pick some up for next week!! :D
