And the MAC was getting props from ESPN and ABC before the games.

I'm most surprised by the UCF score. I really thought they'd score more points.

I picked Toledo to win this week. You better not let me down!

I still like Miami.U in the East. Ryne Robinson is a beast.

New year. New coach. New uniforms. Same result.

It's a never ending cycle.

Let's just hope after getting pounded by WVU that we can keep the game close at Penn State.

Maybe O'Leary can ask Akron for some PSU tips 03-razz
A pretty ugly Saturday all around, excepting NIU (although I thought BG did okay considering the locale, and BSU put on a good showing earlier in the week). Not the way the conference wanted to kick off the season. But, to be fair, you don't lose some of that top talent from last year and not expect some pains.

Let's hope to steal a few next weekend.
The Miami-Michigan game was a nightmare to watch (as a Miami fan). Turnovers all over the place doomed us............I feel badly for our defense, as they played great. (Michigan was never able to mount a long drive, and only had something like 280 yards total offense). But, they didn't have to take it far with the TO's we gave 'em.

Didn't affect the final outcome per se, but as we've discussed before those B10 officials sure make it tough on 'ya'. For those of you that actually watched the UM-Miami game, you might've noted that on most every big Miami gain there was a flag thrown (some legit of course), and on two critical 3rd down throws there was pretty obvious interference by UM (according to the replays and ABC announcers) yet no flag. I don't think they threw one flag against Michigan all day except off-setting after they mugged our QB on the ground after an INT.

The final score was an embarrassment, as was the 4th quarter in general. We did no favors for the conference yesterday, but surprisingly enough despite my gloom I still think Miami will compete very well for the MAC East title. Our defense is fast, and should be able to shut down many a MAC opponent if our offense doesn't give the ball away like they did against Michigan.
In fairness, O'Leary wasn't left with a lot of experience or depth. Give him about three years.

Are you kidding?

Florida has an inexhaustable supply of players who are infinitely better than in the midwest!

Yes, all of whom were expelled from or left UCF last year. 03-razz
And where are those players now <he asked, tongue planted firmly in cheek>
After the year the MAC had as a whole last year, this was going to be a down year. The conference couldnt lose that much talent and replace them right away. It was kinda predictable. I am pretty sure when my Broncos go to Va tech this weekend we will have our hats handed to us. It isnt going to discourage me for rooting for any MAC team in the big games. This conference is on the up trend and will continue to be that way and with ESPN on board it will stay that way.
