1)Battlestar Galactica toys (something about the missles being small and might get stuck in the throat)

2)Kiss records (devil music)

3)posters on the wall (something about renting a house and keeping the walls clean) - We were allowed to have posters on the doors, not the walls.
I had a Battlestar Galactica "centaurian" spaceship and a "cylon" one. Both were pretty cool and matched up well with all my Star Wars stuff size-wise. Han Solo's Millennium Falcon may have never battled a cylon starfighter on TV or the big screen, but it did in my room! :D
Porn 03-wink Just kiddin. I was always wanted the electric race car tracks but she always had some reason to say no. You will spill a drink on it and it will shock you etc etc.
I got the Star Wars/GI Joe stuff by the boxloads, but the cool looking B-star Gal. stuff never got into the mix :(

Yeah, that stuff never was in the house...ahem....yeah.
Heh! I forgot about stupid "Kiss." I had the Kiss marvel comic!

Things I couldn't have or do? Lessee....usually Mom and Dad were pretty cool about most things, but there were some....

- I remember Mom wouldn't let me go see "The Exorcist" with Dad in '73. 05-nono I whined about it......but seeing as how I was 8 years old at the time, she probably had a point! :D
- I never did get those "Rock 'em, Sock 'em" robots. Never. I always told they were cheaply made and would break. Hmmm....
- I was not allowed to buy comic books until Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. Never during school days M-F........and of course blue laws were in effect Sunday, so you couldn't buy 'em then either.
- I wanted to order some of those "joke" items you saw in comic books (hand buzzers, hot pepper gum, whoppee cushions, etc.) but I got a big fat "NO" on that one.
- I always wanted a Wolfman rubber mask and hands down at the Cromer's Peanuts store at Dutch Square Mall. I got a NO every time!
:(

Oh well, I survived! (As for porn, I knew other kids who had stashes at times........ )

me neither :( - neighbor did though, lucky kid
I had the rock'em sock'em robots and their cousins-in-noise, the Hungry, Hungry Hippos. Used to drive dad crazy with the racket those things caused.

Besides Cookie Crisp, we pretty much got what we wanted, though we usually have to wait til birthdays or christmas. Trying to think of anything that I really wanted but never got...hmmm...I even had a Big Trak!

Here's one...I never had a go-cart. :(

My brother and I had one and we loved it. It did end up breaking because we pounded the crap outta that thing.

I couldn't put posters on the wall either nor would my mom allow me to have the Telephone Man record. She wouldn't let me have anything KISS related but eventually she caved.

In my quest for a little sympathy from the rest of the deprived here, I failed to mention that I later got a motorcycle myself. 03-wink

Wow! A motorcycle......I never even got a car, unless driving Dad's car when he wasn't using it counts!! 03-razz

I can't complain really.......I don't know what I would've done if I had a car at 17. I didn't exactly have a lot of long distance trips I needed to make back then.....I was a pretty boring teen I guess!! 03-cool
Sounds like a Ferris Bueller thing, Gal - did you get the computer? 03-wink
LOL......naww.....I didn't get my first computer until 1999!!

But then, you're talking to a guy who held off on an answering machine until 1995, didn't have a CD player until 1990.......and still doesn't have a cell phone!!
Galactus if you value your $$$ then dont get a cell phone. Our bill is 120.00 every month.
Cell Phones (if you are married) keeps you on a short leash. Trust me.

Damn Gal.....

My parents gave me my first car upon completion of the 9th grade, (an MG Midget) got my first 'puter in '91 (a 286 w/ a mono chrome monitor, no mouse, a 5 1/2" floppy drive.), Had probably the first answering machine ever built, still have my first CD player/stereo which I think I got in '94, my first cell phone was the size of a brick, but it wasn't in a bag, HOWEVER, I didn't get a DVD player until last year when I got two of 'um, one for the bedroom and one as part of a system I got for the den.
