i don't even know why they tried to defend minn... they should have just gave them the points and saved the time... if Stutz doesn't fire the defense coaches... then, we will never be a contender...

I've heard lots of people say the coaches need to be fired, some say immediately. Assuming he did that, exactly who do you think will fill the spots now that the season has begun? (nobody worth hiring) Do you think they would do any better considering they'd be walking in to a new system cold? (no)

Folks, this was one game. Yes, it was the most embarrassing loss I've ever seen the Rockets take, including the drubbing at (#1) Ohio State, but we don't know Minnesota's final ranking either. We have a lot more opponents ahead of us and we better meet them looking forward, not back.

Toledo, we have a problem. Nothing could be clearer to the coaching staff at this point. I'm going to reserve judgment until I see how they react and adjust.

Good post, Dan. It was a drubbing that snowballed, no doubt about it. We see what we're made of next week. That goes for the players AND the fans. The players are committed to 11 games this year. I'm betting they'll be busting their humps to never see anything like last night again. Will we, the fans, support them? I sure hope so.

First off... i would hope lou west has his resignation on Stutz desk Monday morning... or Tuesday since it is labor day... If Stutz was smart, he would tell West that he is going to make the D calls on the field... he needs to put his head coach whistle down, roll up his sleeves and fix the problem... we are stuck with this for the rest of the season and it is going to be a long long season...

it was one game, but all the momentum and credibility as a national player that we earned last year has now been totally lost...

Street cred would be nice but it wasn't going to give us anything like a bid to a BCS bowl. It means nothing in reality. Until we get to Eastern Michigan, these games mean nothing. Capturing the MAC Championship is good enough for me.

Well, seeing how I am down in Florida... I prefer to have a team that is nationally recognized... it makes it much more fun to be obnoxious and belligerent when I am completely intoxicated talking smack to the gator fans... to have them actually know and respect the Rockets...

The Redhawks got drubbed by a Iowa team that was not as talented as Minnesota is at the beginning of last year.It did not stop them from having a great year.We need to regroup obviously,the Gophers could have put up 1,000 yds. in total offense if they kept going.We have an opportunity to show what we are made of at Kansas. If anything Kansas might be overconfident now.After the first week,I have to say
NIU looks like best team week#1.They were in the ballgame against
Maryland before a hostle 55,000.Their defense put them in a position
to win.The offense made some clutch plays.The Rockets did none of the above. I think the kicking game was improved with the freshmen.If we can win this week I think we'll do ok.Time for the Rockets to suck it up,
and make things happen.
