Well Ticket Master is selling Section B Row 34, we need a real Surge over the next two days and a good walk up crowd.

How is the huskie mobile comming with the speakers to do neigborhood broadcasts?

CPT D
On Monday TicketMaster was giving Row 18 in section B as best available, so we've sold 16 rows in two days and it should pick up over the next two days, plus the walk up.

However, a buddy stopped by the Convo Center on Tuesday and was able to get row 10 in section E. It was a single, so that could just be filling an odd seat, or bad news as far as ticket sales are going.

Weren't there gloom and doom reports for the SIU game?

I predict another large crowd coming to enjoy the huskies and the other guys.
There are two big differences between this game and the SIU game. 1) Bowling Green won't bring nearly as many fans as SIU had, and we won't have as many high school age fans and their parents in the stands because a lot of them will be at their own team's games.

But more importantly the White Sox face off agaisnt the Royals at home this Friday night which will hurt 03-lol

Maybe we needed a better promotion this Friday night to attract more of family based fans. Something like fireworks, Novak bobble head doll, free tuition to the first 10,000 fans, just something more than Pork or corn.

Fireworks and 10,000 Thunderstix are scheduled for Friday night.

Ahhh wasn't aware of the fireworks!!

I Just think its sad we are struggling to fill the place. When Phillips was interviewed during the SIU game they put out some stat about how many NIU alumni are within 1 hr drive of campus and it was a huge number. Even without high school football players, you would really think a sell out should have been a given. Who knows maybe there will be a huge rush during gameday, I really hope so. Go Huskies!

What's better than pork and corn?
As of this morning, Best Available on Ticketmaster for 2 seats was Sect B Row 42. Only 32 more rows to go!

How about a walk up ?

Did anyone see or hear any advertising for this game besides the one on the NIU Athletics website ?
Ticket Masters viewis not always the best. Currently this is what Ticket Master see's as being the best. However we still have Section A (Vistors Area) and Section G of which I am sure that are many rows to be filled. I would say that there are probaly at least another 4k worth of seats left on the West Side of the Stadium, plus extra general admis seating on the East Side. I think a safe best come tommorow is that there will be about 5K total seats left to sell.

How about Porn and Corn. DF could be a consultant on this one.
Ticketmaster's computer does not sell tickets in numerical order or in order by rows... at least not for large venues like stadiums. In other words, because you got a certain row and seat number does not mean you should assume that all of the seats behind you are not purchased.

I've bought tickets from TicketMaster for football games before, clicked on the "Best Available," and gotten seats that were worse than the ones my friends bought using the same option two days later. I had a friend that worked in the ticket business, and he explained how TM's system works (in terms of distributing seats) to me over a beer one night. VERY complicated.

In short, it's horribly inaccurate way to estimate where ticket sales are at for a particular game.

Yeah, actually on both!

Speaking of porn and corn, we can combine them into a very nice theme and have half-time shows that I would love to correograph. I can see it now...cheerleaders and silverettes dressed in cute little farmer outfits in a mock field of corn, harvesting the ears of corn, and then....

I think I'm in the wrong business! :crying:
I see butter as a prop some where in this show... 05-nono

The White Sox probably won't even draw as many fans as the NIU game. Any Sox fans might as well come to see the Huskies, who at least are a winning team. A much more significant concern would be people staying home and watching the Cubs drive to the Wild Card against the Mets.
Hey !
Mmy son and work colleagues are going to Sox game tonite . Owner is both an SIU and NIU alum. Thats five in the park already !

On Monday, best available for 4 tickets started on Row 18 in section B via ticketmaster, yesterday we were at row 34, and as of 5 mins ago, we were up to row 47. We're making steady progress. I have a good feeling about the attendance for this game, given some of the valid reasons we should not expect a sellout. My guess is between 23K and 25K.

Whether its sold out or not, will not effect my attitude towards the game, it just would be nice to make a good showing on ESPN. And the more fans, the louder. Maybe the students will over flow on the East side and some will have to come over to the West side which happened during the Maryland game.

I remember when anything over 15K was good...

I think 25 is a great goal, with the way this team started to still be talking about maybe having a sellout is great, how many 1-2 non bcs teams who are not that far removed from a huge losing streak can say that?
