If I recall correctly the 2002 BG game had 25K and what a great atmosphere that was. Anything over 25K is great, sellout would be tremendous.

Still hard to believe we are talking sellouts. I remember the first game of the 1984 season, Lee Corso was coach and the game was broadcast on local ABC station(vs. North Texas I believe). That was when they built the old piece of crap TV booth. Anyway, they forced all the fans into the north side of the west stadium so they could get a crowd shot that appeared to show a sell out. I am guessing the crowd was no larger than 10K. And that was the first game after a bowl win.

It's has been along time coming.
It was West Texas A&M. After that game, on the "Lee Corso Show", there was a crowd shot and Corso said something like, "and here's a portion of the sell out crowd at Huskie Stadium". He was a piece of crap liar from the very beginning.

I agree 100%, there will be a great atmosphere there for a 1-2 team. I think we are maybe setting out sites a little high, but what is the harm in dreaming or wanting the best?

If we get over 25K here is to you NIU football 04-drinky
Is 20,000 too much to ask for Akron, I think that figure would be a good goal for that game.

Frankly, you are likely way to low. It is family day and band day. Not to mention beef day and thunderstix. :) Should be at least 25,000. Hope the weather is good. If we lost to BG, then the crowd(butts in seats) would have been about 20 or possibly less. That was a HUGE game on the field AND in future attendance.

P.S. I saw the tent and suites quickly on the broadcast. It didn't look overly terrible(but a nice endzone facility would be a step up). How did it look in person?

I thought the suites looked fine - the semi one looked like a neat place to hang for a game. They didn't look bad in the endzone - I'd actually rather see them than the old bleachers that were too big for the end zone.

But yes, a nice end zone facility would look fantastic back there, both on TV and in person!
How many people can fit in the suites? Less than 40. It seems like a waste, to me.

The same goes for the tent. I think it is all much ado about nothing.

I sat in the endzone seats a couple times, when they were there. Lousy view. No depth perception.

If they ever put more real seats in the endzone, they should raise them high enough so you look down on the field, and not crossways, causing you to loose depth perception. U of I has very good endzone seating.

Those tents in the endzones showed okay on TV. Much better than seeing an ugly bare spot.
I would be surprised with Famly and Band weekend NOT to be near a sellout again.

Announced fannies in stands was 25K and change....If no shows were counted, would "sellout" be more apt descritpion despite empty seats? Jauss used sellout in his Trib report.
