That's good to see.

You see what most Marshall Fans really think of Chryst later on in the rest of the thread. Any real Marshall Fan knows that Rick Chryst is a first class guy, and has done wonders for the mac.

I have a friend that was at a eatery/bar outside the GMAC bowl, with 2 other Marshall Fans .........and Rick Chryst sent them 3 beers to their table. They didn't even know he was in the club/eatery. That is a great guy, as well as commish....period. There are always "tools" in the crowd at every school.

Let's see if I have this straight. You go to a Marshall board, find an article that you consider "classy" from a HERD fan (imagine that...Herd fans on a Herd board) and then bring it to this board for exploitation.

Interesting. If you have a problem with it, why not address it on that board? It has nothing to do with ncaabbs.com. Now that's classy.

Only a Herd fan can understand what it means to play in Division 1-AA against Appy State....

Moving the MACC to Detroit in spite against Marshall is a spin of the facts. The number one reason it happened is Chryst finally believed the climate was there to make it work.

How can you drag this over here and then talk about class, Dodo? Show a little yourself. Everybody in that thread seemed to rip the guy for his actions. Seems like class abounds and that jerk was the exception and not the rule, as it is everywhere.

I was taken by the number of herd fans that came to Chryst's defense, given that he is the commissioner of their soon-to-be former conference. It would be pretty easy to say nothing and move on but they had that guy back-peddling pretty fast.

And since when is it classless to post links to other boards/sites? I imagine there's a reason that there's an "http://" button at the top.

People post links to other boards all the time as a basis for discussion. You just don't like it because you think the link I posted makes your team look bad.

I agree with your assessment Muther, but when I linked it, all those replys weren't up there. And like I said, it was good to see.

However, I thought it was relevant to our discussion of fan behavior. Someone harasses the MAC Commish (who has done great things for Marshall), and then the next few posts congratulate him for it. That's perfectly relevant, and I fail to see how it's "classless."

I can't tell you how many times Hawktalk's been linked on Herd boards and other MAC fan sites.

This whole "linking discussions on other boards is classless" thing is lost on me.

It wasn't the linking of the other board, but don't play coy to the reaction you were expecting when you did it. The title of your thread was begging to start another smackfest. However, being that it was done before the majority of Herd fans showed up and fixed that guy's wagon I can see where you may have been upset. Maybe in the future you could give us a small window in which to take out our own trash before you spread it all over cyberspace.

After reading the originators post over there, I doubt that he even spoke to Chryst. Three Email threads, three different versions of what happened. Who is he, John Kerry? <ducking>
