BG really had it tuff. Nice job. Temple can not be as bad as the score. I am impressed. I saw you against Oklahoma and was impressed there also. You make the MAC look good. That game today probably lost you a coach for sure.

Makes the Huskie D look pretty damn good, too. 04-bow

I just think Temple folded the up the Tent because of the poor character of its Junior College filled roster.

It made the MAC look better though.

I'm inclined to agree. Temple is a bad team that is playing with zero confidence, and a BGSU team angry about the NIU game just turned into a hot knife to the Owls' butter.

Now...none of that is saying BUGS doesn't have a prolific offense. I just think Temple would be a bottom-feeder in the MAC this year. Maybe if EMU had hosted the Owls instead of Idaho... 03-banghead

Yes, and I approve thoroughly!
Way to run up the score. All class.

I've said previously that I don't view Temple as a BCS conference win. It's a win, and we like those, but there's not a hell of a lot of bragging to be done over beating Temple. Ohio's win over Kentucky blows this one out of the water.

Still, you always have to like 70-16.

Check how many passes we threw after the our first drive in the second half and then get back to me about class, brah.

Geez, remind me not to piss BG off!

Speaking of class or the lack thereof, did you hear that the UK players didn't give us any handshakes after the game and just retreated back to the locker room? Come on, at least let us have our moment. God knows it is long overdue.
I was watching on TV and there seemed to be a friendly exchange between the teams afterward. Where did you hear about the no handshakes?
DiehardHuskie Wrote:Way to run up the score. All class.
I don't know that we did. Omar was pulled when broke 50. The last two or three touchdowns came with our backups.

For example, take the last touchdown. We went for it on fourth and goal from the eleven. Coaches called a running play. Yet our third- or fourth-string tailback (Dan Macon) scored. On the ground. From the 11.

I suppose we could have kneeled at that point, but there were several minutes left. Could kneeling with four minutes left near their goal line have possibly been less insulting?
Omar left the game midway through the 3rd quarter. We had most of startes out in the 3rd quarter onward. We just kept running the ball up the middle to kill clock and they turned out to be big plays because they couldnt tackle. Honestly, if BG wanted to run up the score, they could have reach 80 or 90 IMO lol

Derek Scott said it on radio. Maybe he had a different vantage point?
I think it was more of a field position thing and BG taking it to Temple hard than running up the score. BG had 49 points at halftime. Also, BG started possessions in Temple territory 4 times and started at their own 48, 44, and 40 yard lines on 3 other possessions. That is some great field position that they got because of Charles Sharon returning punts like crazy.

BG made up for their loss at NIU as best as they could (they can't get that loss back, but this makes them feel better), but they didn't run the score up.

:withstupid: Obviously one who spouts off at the mouth without getting any facts....our 4 or 5th string running back had close to 70 yards...score at halftime was 42-9 and not 1 touchdown in the second half was a passing touchdown and the last 4 touchdowns scored was from our 2nd string running back on down. We ran the ball more than twice the amount of completions Jacob had.(20 completions to 42 rushes). Guess we should of just had Jacobs start downing the ball at the beginning of the 3rd quarter, but then again is our fault Temple doesn't have a rushing defense.LOL So I guess from your comment, referencing that BG is classless than NIU must be half way between having class and classless beating up on Akron 49-19? 04-drinky

Ah yes, another "I didn't see or listen to the game but know the facts" post!

I think my fine feathered brothers here have told the story correctly. I listened to the game on the radio and it was over in the 2nd quarter.

Yep, we'll tell all our young guys to not go 110% and take it easy even though they're fighting for playing time.

I nominate this at the dumbest post of the year.

No one is calling Temple a BCS conference win anymore.

Why do you have to compare BG and Ohio U's wins? Both were good for the conference.

Every MAC OOC win is a good win. Some are better than others for what it does for the conference's image. People don't take notice of beating Temple. People take notice of beating Kentucky - it's not like beating Georgia would be, but it's still something people take notice of.

I'm really not trying to dig on BG (or UT, for that matter). Just making a read on wht causes people to say "damn, the MAC did it again!". Unfortunately, we've had very few of them this year, and Ohio happens to hold the top one.
